i have a whole book of writing strategies =]
one of them that usually works for me is pick a topic that you have strong feelings on and just write about it. screw the grammar/spelling/punctuation, just write your FEELINGS. unedited, uncensored thoughts. usually, for me, it triggers some kind of idea that comes to me subconsciously and im slightly inspired. kinda depends on what you're craving to write, though. well, i hope it helps you. =]

I just write a lot of crappy poems, stories, rants when I have writers block. One will normally inspire me in some completely unrelated way. My mind is odd o.0

usually i have conversations with my friends. we'll be joking around about stuff that probably wouldn't make sense to anyone. i usually think about what the convo. was about and then that gives me an idea of some kind.
also i would watch movies and see what i don't like and then how i would change it.
pretty much anything around you can give you clue of something to write. even if it's a one shot.good luck.
    i hope that helps
