  • Lol like on one hand I understand, because she had a really tough day at work. But also I'm like, we're 22, we should know our limits!

lol definitely. Like I love her so much. But damn. And yeah lol, we pregame with a bunch of people at her apartment. But she seemed fine until we were leaving. Idk. It's just such an awkward situation, you know?

Well at least you're being a good friend, ya know? so try to think of it that way. Sounds like a lightweight then if you had just literally walked into the club lmao. Did you guys predrink or something?

Ugh. Like I feel like a bitch for being mad because honestly she's
like, one of my best friends. But like, fuck. I wanted to go to the club and dance and let loose since I've been stressed lately. And we literally walked into the club and went to the bathroom and then left and it was just kind of embarrassing because the bouncers had to like walk us out. And like, yeah I did this to her once but I feel like it wasn't so extreme. Fuck. Such a weird feeling.

  • legit have under 1000 because I've been away from my computer since I'm visiting a friend in Boston. However, currently taking care of her because apparently she still can't handle her liquor. We were at the club and I just wanted to dance and whatnot with some guys but we had to Uber home and now I'm just here watching her. It sounds so selfish. Like I honestly love her to death but damn.

Thanks!! You've been quite helpful today and that makes me feel better about my writing. I looked at word crawls earlier so i might try those later when I get to work + word sprints.

And you're right, i'm not gonna worry about anyones word counts but my own. i may only have 4k but that's more than usual haha. It's more than i write in a week.

    @ ocarina.
Thank you! I'm gonna take a look at the outline tonight and go from there. Maybe I forgot a few things from the first chapter that I can add to the second chapter. I'm going to do so much editing once NaNo is over, lol.

  • i think you shouldn't worry too much about the story being, well, good! it sounds like the quality is what's really getting to you- but don't worry so much! nano is based on quantity, that is, just write something. the point, i think, is that it doesn't have to be perfect. that's what going back to edit is for! it's just to get something out there that eventually you can work with! excerize your writing tricks! try new things! experiment! you're not writing the next great american novel in a month, you're just writing! don't stress too much about it!

if you don't like what you're writing right now- skip to another part! right something else and eventually connect! just have fun with it! if it's stressing you out, then there's no point. c:

  • I'll reiterate what I said in the NaNo log thing (brain is futzing out on me).

4k isn't that bad, hun. Whatever projects you are working on, take a small step back. What about them is upseting you? What don't you like? Whatever it is that you don't like, how could you change it? Rewrite a scene in the way you want it to go, but leave the previous one in there for the word count. Just make a note that you rewrote it and to nix it when you go to edit it. Trust me. It's super hard to do, but you need to kinda shut down your inner editor if you want to purely rack up the words.

Other tips: word sprints (by yourself and with friends), word crawls, taking dares from the NaNo forums and writing out how they would play into your story/ies, reading the NaNo Tips Forum. And most importantly, try not to let yourself stress over other people's word counts. Keep in mind that some people have been planning their novels right to the very last period all year or are super inspired or have more free time than you. You can't help that. All you can do is write for yourself and challenge yourself along the way. So what if you don't reach 50k by the end of the month? You participated! You still wrote towards something in the month of November. You still knocked out a chunk of words you otherwise might not have gotten in a decent amount of time, right? Keep trucking along. You need to remember that the only thing to lose here is missing out on gettin to know your brainchild, good or bad.

  • I've honestly just been listening to the soundtrack of Prince of Egypt on repeat and when it feels like I'm about to hit a wall. I take a half hour break and read a book for a while. You can always write a little bit at a time. Just try not forcing yourself to write so much.
