    The more you write in your story the easier it'll be to find the unique things that your characters can offer the plot. Id say just focus more on the story and eventually the two will come together and make a unique formula to the story. If you're having a hard time fitting your character into the plot, just keep writing and eventually your character will develop on his own and find his own significant meaning in the story.

    That's a great question. To be honest, it depends on what I've been inspired by. But I'd have to say it's generally plot first.
