Exactly! It's one thing to say they're fundamentally changing the character. But I'm sure many people would take issue with the way I write Shizuo in Up in Flames. But like you said, a lot of it goes back to the theory and opinion of the person writing and how they connect with or what they wonder about that character.

yeah, people like to go anal over that. I agree though because honestly, what actually truly counts as a character going OOC? Because most people write their interpretations of how characters act in certain situations when writing fanfic and those who want to be anal about it fail to remember that it's fanfiction.

That's the kicker for me, usually. Although OOC is up to personal interpretation a small amount of the time. Like for example a lot of people consider genuine development of certain characters as OOC. Which annoys me.

I don't think so. Honestly I think it's my period.

THat's true. And characters can't act too OOC without a solid reason (ie Zuko from Avatar acting nice towards Aang all of sudden prior to season 3).
