Oh and p.s - it will erase the songs on your ipod i'm pretty sure...

You can upload the songs on your ipod onto the computer
It's a little tricky, but when you put the ipod into the computer, it will say how the songs etc aren't recognised.
Then you go to your "my computer" to the usb plugs/drives and find the folder for your ipod
then make sure that you have "view hidden folders" enabled.
and then you can fiddle around to find your music and copy the folders.
NB: The songs when you transfer them will be known as four letter words ie. HYMP or XXTY etc and you will have to go thru once the songs are copied over to your system to fix them and re-info them... if that makes sense.
I haven't used media player for my ipod. itunes is easier to operate for me.
