Avoid fatty foods, and foods that contain Hydrogenated Fats, Saturated Fats(less that 4g, at least), Empty Calories(like Enriched Flour in white bread), Simple sugars, and high fructose corn syrup. Eat fruit or nuts or something for a snack.
If you're exercising, it's not fat. You're supposed to measure yourself, not weigh yourself. When you exercising, you build and tone muscles. Muscle weighs more than fat and when you look at a scale it gives the illusion that you're gaining weight. You lose inches, not pounds, kilos, stones, whatever.
