I Don't really like wierd Al TBH.
But Green Day Are Just Amazing. :D

But tht's just my opinion. it's good that you like diiferent bands.
it'd b strange if everyone like the same band.

I think they are both good in very different ways.
Green day, (especially their earlier stuff, for me) make great music and have a great and unique sound.
Weird Al is funny as hell, and I personally think he has a lot of talent in what he does...there isn't anyone out there like him.
But they are both so different, it's hard to compare the two.

I like them both. :)

And a lot of musicians/bands actually think it's hilarious when Weird Al does parodies of their songs. Pete Wentz said he wishes he'd do a Fall Out Boy song. "Where is your beer tonight/ I hope it is a Heineken..."

I don't really respect what Weird Al does. It may be funny, but being a musician, I would hate it if he took a song that I wrote and turned it into a piece of lyrical idiocy that people will forever on think of whenever they hear my song.

Also, I've listened to Green Day since I was tiny. Well, tinier. So, GREEN DAY! :D

erm, if I like bands I only like them for their music only. well I do think some are hot, but thats just a side thing, I don't like a band because of that if you see what I'm saying.

Erm I like both bands/people and I'm just gonna make valid arguments for both.

Wierd Al Yankovic isn't everyones kind of music, but I'm sure he does put effort into mocking everything and it shows us to ourselves, and brings entertainment to many people.

Green Day-some of their songs are pointless topics, some are well thought out and about expressing oppinions, and some are about giving hope to people after bad relationships.

So its kind of hard to compare bands on who puts more effort into it. You don't know them, or exactly why they write the songs they do or how hard they work at it. So just have you and your friend aggree to disagree. You could argue one is more hardworking than the other, but you'd never know for sure.

Green Day = better music and lyrics
Weird Al is good, but nothing compared to Green Day (:
