Poetry is Useless? - Comments

Poetry is really helpful to get out your feelings. It's helped me A LOT.

i hate opinionated discussions so much because most students are too stupid to realize that poetry is not useless. It shaped and continues to shape how contemporary poetry is written today, provides pleasure, knowledge, and the window into the poet's mind!
And for those who write poetry, its self expression! Saying poetry is pointless is like saying that self expression and all forms of art are pointless

I think poetry needs some R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

i totally agree with you. poetry is an art form and a beautiful form of self expression. lots of people don't put effort in and don't understand it, so that's why they don't want to learn it. it's the same kind of debate as Shakespeare. personally, i love it but i think i'm the only one in my english class that does
