This is true, but you can't blame people for liking what they do. It's up to them what they read/write. I have an original story, if you're looking for one. It's horror, though.

I know what you mean. I used to have all original fiction posted but people on here won't even look at that stuff, so i had to post a few fanfics just to get readers to look at my stories page. I think that's the only way people ever started reading any of my original stuff, and still it's not like I have a lot of readers. I'll check out your originals. I hope you take a look at mine.

I love Original fiction, and don't really rate fan-fictions. Although I've never really gave them a chance.

I just posted a journal kind of similar to this topic yesterday. I feel the same way but people are going to read what they want and everyone loves bands or famous people. You just have to hope for the best and get your writing out there some how. I know it's hard. >_<

Its kinda rare that nonfanfics get a lot of viewers. I should know because I have about nine fanfics which all have three and over stars and then I have a historical book which has one. But I only put that up to put it out there, I knew people aren't really interested in that stuff on here.

Actually, I've written many Frank Iero fan fictions that haven't gotten noticed. I've just come to the conclustion that people are rude and lazy... But that's mainly on Quizilla. Yeah, so you just have to keep writing and if it works, it works. If not, finish it up, start something new and see what happens. That's what I've been doing for the past six months and it's been working, so you might want to try that.

I read whatever on this site. Just recommend it to me and I'll read it. If I don't like it, I won't read it, but I won't be mean about. That's just the way I am, I'm not so sure about the other people on this site though, I haven't exactly met everyone yet. XD

It is a pity that original fiction doesn't get more readers, but that's just the way it is. I'm going to make a really pathetic economics comparison just for kicks: Band fanfictions have scarcity power, you see. Because there aren't many other places on the internet you can read bandfics that are as organized and easy to navigate as Mibba, fanfictions can reduce in quality, while still ensuring they get more readers, because people want fanfiction and are willing to sacrifice some grammar and non-cliche plots and punctuation if they get it. And because of this, fanfiction that isn't competing - fanfiction that is still original, and good, and of course, original fiction that isn't in the same market at all - get shunted to the side and lose readers and comments. They can't afford to stay in business.

    ...sorry about that. Smiley

Anyway, if you want to get more readers/reviewers you can go play the Story/Review game in the Off-Topic forum, or use the Pimpin' and Reccin' Thread in the On Writing Forum.
