This is so sad, and so beautiful at the same time. I know exactly what you mean with the fake smiles, and fitting the prince concept back in there is brilliant! "if only for a moment" that last line, just fits so perfectly, it's this got this romanticism, and pure hopelessness in it that make it delicate and song-like.

Girl we all need it, hell I'd kill to have one that would just pick me up from my self loathing fall, but its not real. Its need, its not real and you are gonna keep falling while you wait for it. Reality as harsh as it is nobody ever picks you up, you can have ace friends that give you a hand, but there is no damsel in distress that will be rescued by the prince.

If you wanna survive in your world, all you have got is yourself, people are enver there when you need them the most, its true! I've lived it! You can hang on by yourself but, someone picking you up in the worst moment? That is fantasy
