DarkandTwistyLee: Yeah, I definately agree with you, in that there are a lot of things he says in the movie that I totally relate to. I loved the Penguin, and The Riddler as well as the Joker. Those three were my favourite characters.
Anyway back the Joker, in the dark knight, I think he is crazy, but that's what makes him so smart. I think to survive in the world, you have to have some craziness, something that sets you apart, different views and oppinions. But not as crazy as becoming a mass murderer. XDD

My favourite bit is when he's being questioned, first by Gordon, then beaten and questioned by Batman. The acting there is superb. I guess I prefer the movies because I want to be an actress and I like to recognise good acting haha =P =)

SomethingEdge: I just meant that I didn't really get into the comic book Joker as much as some. I found it a bit boring and I didn't really take him seriously as a villan. I didn't really read the comics that much, as I'm not a comic book fan. I gave it a shot, coz my dad was a fan. then I started watching all the movies and I loved the characters. I loved Batman returns, with the Penguin and Catwoman, that alongside the dark knight is my favourite batman movie.I know the joker obviously started in the comics, but he's developed into something more sinister and realistic, through both Jack Nicholsons and Heath Ledgers portrail. :)

Although I am fifteen and wasn't born yet when the animated series first started, I have always grown up around Batman, The Joker, Two-Face, The Riddler, Penguin, ect. My mom is a huge Batman fan (I'm not lying, she's had Batman around her whole life) and she got me into it. I remember when I was five years old (1998) the animated series was on Cartoon Network and I used to watch that. The Joker was my favorite villan because I found him humorous. Harley annoyed me. Penguin was okay, and I loved The Riddler.

Then there was that shit on WB or whatever. The animation annoyed me, so I never watched it.

I remember having Batman action figures and shit also. My mom, aunt and I would watch the movies together. My favorite was Batman Forever with Jim Carrey as The Riddler. I didn't really like Jack Nicholson as The Joker. He wasn't...well, he just wasn't really how Joker should have been. Although he was very clownish and comic booky.

And I'm going to be honest here, I wasn't all that crazy about the idea of seeing The Dark Knight. The memory of how Batman was when I was younger and how they'd make it today made me iffy. I had never heard of Heath Ledger, either. Until his death, anyway. Then I found out he was that dude from Brokeback Mountain.

Before seeing TDK I saw "10 Things I Hate About You" (Seattle scenery caught my attention right away, of course), then I saw Heath's name come up. I figured I'd check him out and see if he was as great as I had been hearing.

Turns out, he was. All he had to do was look at the camera and you realize he's got it. He had it.

    Anyway, stepping back into Batman.

The minute he pulled off the clown mask in the beginning it felt right. It felt like that's how The Joker should be. I wouldn't call him crazy, surprisingly. Why is that? Because he's seeing things outside the box. He breaks sanity and shows people the cold hard truth. Being older, that's what I love about the character.

And I will not lie, Heath's Joker is appealing (look-wise, personality-wise, ect. To me, anyway.) But still.

Okay...longass post is now over O_O

As a kid I grew up with batman because of my step brother but I never really got that much into it. I liked the plot, batman, joker, my favorite girl villan is Posion Ivy. She still is too me awesome.

I'm start to love the Joker now I'm starting to do the resurch I didn't before about the Joker history. It's extreamlly intresting but I can't say I've known him completly since childhood. I was to fixated on other things than him at the time but I did catch a few Batman epsiodes an dressed up like Batman sometimes when I was a kid.

The joker is extreamlly cool though.

Okay, so band-wagon as "this is a fad and will blow over" not like, "Hey, I just saw the Dark Knight, and I loved the character of the Joker, so now I'm going to go back and see what else I can watch with his character in it."

    My mistake. :)

Look at his relationship with Harley. If you want that, then be my guest...

I meant bandwagon as: The next time a superhero/fandom-based movie comes out, The Dark Knight will blow over. Just like with Transformers and God knows what else that I can't think of at the moment. =P

I liked Jack Nicholsons performance as the joker. That's when I first became aware of the joker. I never got a chance for the animated series, coz I would have been one when it started :(

Nahh, it was more today, that really annoyed me...
I was getting my t shirt out of HMV, minding my own business, and these little twelve year old kids, who had been practically following me around the whole store were there, watching me. Picked up the T shirt, no bother.

While I was waiting in line to pay I saw them all get a t shirt and join me. >.< That really pissed me off... so that's all I was meaning by wagon jumpers. That and the fact that the joker is not hot, nor would you want to go out with him. He's a murderer, a physcopath. A cool one? Yes? A legend in his own right, yes. But hot and "Offft I would..." Not sure about that one... haha xD

What annoys me though is all the wannabees will soon jump on the band wagon and be like "OMGASH the joker is so hot! I love him so much!"

I already see it quite a bit. It just sucks because I keep seeing all these people saying that they've been Joker fans since they were little, and I just wonder how true it is, you know?

I claim to have been a Joker fan since I was little, but I just recently became more aware of him. I've always loved Batman- he's my favorite superhero, and the Joker was always my favorite super villian. I remember always watching Batman: the animated series when I was little. But you see, this was in 1992. I was 5 years old. I don't remember it THAT much. And then I hear about these other kids saying they loved the Joker when they were kids, and I know it has to be something else, because some of them weren't even born yet in 1992.

The only other Batman thing I remember is Batman Beyond in 1999, and that didn't even have The Joker in it. I mean, I don't care if people want to obsess over the Joker, but I just wonder how many are actually band-wagon jumpers. I mean, it's not a bad thing to just now get into the Joker...

Why so serious, tell me that?
I love the character they've created for him. The joker is no longer the gimic from the comics. It's a proper villan. And I love how he's not evil, he's just wrong in the head
