I agree actually. I think it's people's choice how they say it, but yeah. In my case, they taught me some very important skills, opened my mind, helped me to rethink how I was living but more than saving it, they gave me the ability to look around, find the skills necessary and then save it myself.

I agree with you, alot of people that really like MCR say that "MCR saved my live". The same thing repeated again and again gets tiring and boring, like that old song that was a huge hit and nobody listens to it anymore.

MCR did not really save my life, but they did in a way. It's bot that I would've been dead by now if it weren't for them, it's just that without them, my life would be so much more dull and I'd be depressed all the time.

I like the fact that my name is written there, but thats besides the point. That statement is overused and when you used something too much, it begins to fade.

OnceUponARedRose: There is no such thing as "normal." And there will always be someone in the world with the same ideals as you. People striving to be so much different is pointless. If you're completely different from everyone, that means you have nothing in common with them. If you don't have anything in common with people, you will find it extremely hard to make friends, get a boyfriend/girlfriend and everything else.

Being different is overrated. People focus on it to much. We should just live as ourselves. If you're considered the same as everyone else, then fine. At least you're not trying to be something your not for the sake of "originality."

MCR gave me CPR through music? Is that originality. Haha. Yes I agree, I mean it loosing it's meaning when the same person repeats it over and over again. It's a nice message but over done and it can be road kill.

I counted how many times my friend said it one day. 70 times in 6 hours! I'm deadly serious. And this is daily, so I can completely relate.

Originality will never be overrated. It's just that right now, everyone wants to be "original" and ends up exactly the same. So the old "normal" is the new "original".

Sometime's it's nice for everyone to say the same thing. Why? Because it's about being apart of something. You're all connected because you have something in common. The same phrase applies to you. But that is only one tiny part of you, and it doesn't mean just because one thing you say is chanted by thousands you're unorginal.

    "Originality" is overrated.

Read my journal titled, "A band did not save your life!"

I'd rather you read that than be subjected to me re-typing the whole thing here.

But that's more aimed to the people who think that bands are incapable of saving lives. But to this journal, I ask...who cares what they call it? It's the sentiments behind the words that count, not what it's referred to as. I think you're missing the big point.
