Maybe I'm not making myself clear enough.

When I write, I want you to feel something. I want to make you cry, I want to make you happy, I want to make you hate me so much for doing these things to you, but you can't help but read it. That is my goal. That is what I aim for when I sit down to write.

When readers are telling me, "No, don't go into detail because I'll cry or I'll kill someone," I know instantly that I'm going to go into detail and MAKE you feel it. I ask questions to my readers and sometimes I'll take what they've said and use their advice. Other times, I'll do the complete opposite just to draw a point. It's how I work and it's how I keep a reader hooked.

This update, I asked my readers, "Should I go into detail about the date rape scene?"
So far, I have four comments on this chapter. One has said yes. Another has said... Maybe small details, but don't go all out. And the other two said, "No. Forget it, I will cry. I don't want to know." BUT ISN'T SOMEONE'S WRITING SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU FEEL SOMETHING? Am I right, or do you think I'm in the wrong here?
