Is it cool to talk to your boyfriend on the phone while you have a friend staying the night?

Okay, I was at my friends house last night and we were having a good time and then her boyfriend called. He or she hung up and he said that it was okay because he felt "left out". So then it got really awkward between us. When he called again she asked me if it was alright if she talk to him. What was I suppose to say? No I don't want you to talk to him while I'm here? I don't want to seem bitchy so I said it was fine, but after that she ignored me and was laughing on the phone while I was just sitting there looking through my old yearbook, and after she hung up she still didn't talk to me! So what do you think? Is it cool to talk to your boyfriend on the phone while you have a friend staying the night?
