hows it going? Inspirational i hope :)

Im having some writing issues lately. My writing skills, which i have been revising ever since i joined this little internet community. I have discovered that my writing isn't that powerful. Its lacking a lot. I tried to explain this to a friend, but i don't think they quite understood the point i was trying to make.

My words exactly where " the beauty of writing
is being able to capture peoples imaginations, and take them to a another world with only the use of words
its phenomenal
if the words, dont capture the mood or the events however,
Then that connection doesn't happen"

though they blatenly just thought " oh my lord, what a crack pot " XD

but its been bothering me. I been writing another 3 chapters to my story " The Wolf And The Canary "
And that connection truely is missing.

Anyway able to give me some tips to help make that connection?
My use for vocabulary is quite bad too tbh..
