Anne Rice vs Stephenie Meyer

Okay I'm tired of this comparison. There is a big difference between these two authors.

No offense to Meyer fans but Rice is the better writer in my opinion.

I just get tired of people hyping Meyer to being the next Anne Rice. She's a good author and I like her books but she's no where near being as great as Anne Rice.

I mean Anne's works are just all around better and she doesn't always write vampires as being these glamorous gentle beings like Meyer does.

Meyer didn't even research vampire mythology before she wrote Twilight. It didn't bother me at first but it does now considering what she's writing about and the history of vampires.

Don't get me started on sparkling vampires.

There haven't been that many adaptations of Rice's works into film. I liked Interview with The Interview I was highly disappointed with Queen of the Damned.

If they had stuck with the book and gotten better writers and people working on it, it could've been better. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that someone will do it justice. On the plus side it has a kick ass soundtrack.

And who else agrees that bath scene is hot?

The Twilight series I liked it at first but as the films went on I started thinking this isn't as great as it could be.

If they had stuck with Catherine Hardwicke the series would've been good as a whole.

And honestly no offense but Kirsten Stewart isn't that good of an actress. She made me despise Bella more than I already did.

That's another thing it's pretty bad if I don't care what happens to the main character of a book or movie. She's giving up everything to become a vampire with Jacob she wouldn't have to changed herself.

Anne Rice doesn't write any weak female characters another thing I like about her.

In conclusion this is all I can think of but Stephenie Meyer is not the next Anne Rice.

Most of Meyer's works are fantasy and teen romance to me. Rice is all kinds of genres she's horror, fantasy, erotic horror, drama, etc.
