Better Late Than Never

I am sorry, Ella (lmao)

THINGS YOU DON'T LIKE IN STORIES

Self insertion.
How to Get Over AJ is guilty. Don't read it please ((p l e a s e)). I wrote it 6 years ago when I was 11.

Another thing I dislike, I really hate when overall stories are short like less than 1000 words per chapter, unless it's specifically a Drabble.
I don't even know if I can write long chapters now. Here, I'll give a list of all the stories that fall under that:
Yugto
April
Us
Hiwagang Hapis

Romance. Do not want. Do not want. Can no one write a good action, mystery, or sci-fi without gluing a tacky romance plot onto it?
I'm fond of writing romance— not even going to deny it lmao. I love romance a lot. But I've been trying to write something outside of romance. They're all pretty short but it's a step outside my comfort zone.
Hiwagang Hapis
José
1999
Brat
Half Past Four
...and a few more drabbles in this collection.
THINGS YOU'D LIKE TO SEE MORE OF THAT I'VE DONE

I'd like to see more diversity in terms of setting and nationality. I sort of understand why writers may be hesitant to do so, but a little research and empathy goes a long way.
tldr; of my stories that I think fall under that:
Hiwagang Hapis - a native Filipina's role in the Philippine Revolution
April - a man's first love
Rampa - an example of what lgbtq experience in the Philippines
If it's not obvious, I like writing about my country.

War stories that don't focus on romance. War stories told from the perspective of countries other than America and the UK. War stories about the civil war in Korea, war stories about heinous war crimes and the people that committed them.
It's pretty hard for me to write war stories but I did it with Hiwagang Hapis. It's not yet complete but it's getting there (to the main problem of the story anyway). I don't want to give anything away because I have so much planned for the story!

Beautiful, poetic writing. There are a lot of these on here, but less than the majority.
Okay, I might seem very self-centered but I'm so proud of how I wrote: Yugto and José. Yugto is my comfort piece while José is my experimental piece. I don't think I'll be able to write like that anytime soon.
I'm gonna add this one:
THINGS I WISH I COULD WRITE

Horror
Definitely. I want to write creepy stories like in r/nosleep (reddit nosleep) but I'm so wimpy that I get scared of the story I write myself and it's not even scary yet. I just get so scared while in the process of writing lol!

Really emotional pieces that make readers cry or make their chests ache.
I don't think I've reached this yet. I plan to.

Fantasy
This is undeniably hard. I don't even know where to start with it.
I really, really wanna write something like r/nosleep fics. I just have to write one. I already have an idea in my head but I don't know how to approach it. I hope it's as disgusting as I hoped.
