The Manhattan Hunt Club by John Saul

Wrongly convicted of a crime Jeff Converse's life has taken a wrong turn but instead of heading to prison someone has other plans for him and now Jeff is heading to the one place he wouldn't expect, the subway tunnels of New York City. Jeff must navigate the tunnels and this invisible society and fight to stay alive while being hunted by 'them', the people who threw Jeff into this world.
