Tish Bonner lives a normal life. She has three friends that have big hair and sit in the back of the class. She has a job at Burger Boy, but her father abandoned her mother few months back.
When Tish's English teacher, Mrs. Dunfery, assigns the class to write journal entries throughout the year, Tish writes "dont read this Mrs. Dunfery" or "don't you dare read this Mrs. Dunfery" to make sure that the teacher won't read it.
While the year goes on Tish's life gets out of control and writing in her notebook is the only thing that can help.
