The Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee

This in-depth book encompassing many different sides of cancer is a must-read for anyone interested in the field. It covers the first discoveries and history of cancer progressing to present day (or at least present day at the time the book was published) treatments and other knowledge combined with Mukherjee's personal experiences as an oncology and hematology fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital. This book blends a vast amount of knowledge with personal experience to make it--cancer--more understandable and easier to relate to.
