Can someone reccomend some easy reading romance book involving young people? Not that harlequin romance grociery store stuf, but a really nice love story, preferably in modern times - no sci-fi or fantasy stuff.
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen, if you haven't already read it, or if that is what you care to call easy reading romance.
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt is based on the Fountain of Youth, and involves a boy living as seveteen forever, yet it came long before Twilight. It isn't all romance, and does involve kidnapping and murder, but is still very innocent and sweet.

Thanks for the recc. I've read them both and loved them both. Read Tuck Everlasting for school, when I was younger, and I think I read This Lullaby after it being recommended on Mibba. They're both really sweet stories.

Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami is really lovely romance novel if you don't mind the fact that it's a book about death just as much as it's a book about love and that it's not all sweetness and fluff.

P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern. The people aren't exactly young, I think the woman's in her late twenties, early thirties but it's such a sweet story.

I really like The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen as well.
    My favourite romance novel ever.

Sarah Dessen's books are teenage love stories. They're all kind of similar but nice at the same time.
Eva Ibbotson's books are love stories set in the early 1900s.

Definitely Sarah Dessen. The Truth About Forever, and This Lullaby especially.

I am looking for a new book to read that's similar to Steppenwolf or Siddartha by Herman Hesse.
I'm not really sure what to genre them. :XD

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audry Niffenegger. It's my favorite book, and I can honestly promise you that you've never read anything like it before. It's amazing.

I would recommend Where Rainbows End by Cecilia Ahern. Omg, it's beautiful. I read it within 8 hours because I loved it so much.

I'm looking for some fiction books that are a little on the philosophical side.
    Anyone know of any?

Any good books about mental illness or drug abusers? But that's not too overdramatic or boring?

Identical by Ellen Hopkins. It sort of discribes what you're looking for.
Crank and Glass by Ellen Hopkins involves drugs.

    Paulo Coehlo's The Alchemist.

It's very philosophical. But also brilliant as a story.

I Never Promised You A Rose Garden by Joanne Greenberg is really good. It's about a young girl suffering from schizophrenia.

If you liked Hesse and you like to read more books by the same author one after another, try Demian and/or Narcissus and Goldmund. And maybe a few short stories by Borges? Or The Character of the Rain by Amelie Nothomb. You'll love the last one, but you might have to buy it because it's a contemporary relatively unknown Belgian writer. Or Palomar by Italo Calvino. It's simply stunning.
