Getting Ideas

All of my story ideas as of late have been inspired by the Panic split.

I get inspired by the NHL and watching hockey games. Anyone who knows me knows that I love hockey.

I draw some inspiration from television shows such as CSI as well, and sometimes I write stories based on some of my favorite writers, mainly Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman (None of those are on here).

I write things that I lived threw or have went threw with others. Example is Alive But Broken.

Sometimes TV shows give me good ideas. Like for my Zombie story.

Books and current experiences I've been through.

I normally get inspiration after I've read a book then I incorporate my ideas with what I liked about the book, and later on put some of my emotions and experience on it.

Usually a book or a song. Technically, I get one of the main characters from the song. Then I picture the character in my head and I see a scene and the whole thing floods out from there, filling in the blacks.

I google pretty sights and things for pictures. I get inspired by them and things pop into my head. Also, I listen to powerful music. Yup. Oh, and just daily life and experiences, and things I see around me. Ideas are everywhere, you just have to catch them before they dissapear.

I listen to Muse. Their lyrics always give me really interesting ideas. :tehe: I think it's because they focus on more than just personal feelings, such as all the other things going on in the world (and out of the world :tehe:).

I get ideas from the most random things/combinations of things. I got the idea for the new story I'm working on while I was watching The Last House on the Left, but I was also inspired by certain events in Just Listen by Sarah Dessen, Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, and the movie The Invisible.

Some dreams are brilliant for inspiration. Quite a few of my stories began as dreams.

I get ideas from parties, stories my dad and mom tell me about the 60s and 70s, football games, and the band. :XD They are very...inspiring.

Photographs and personal experience. Or any dreams I can remember that could make it as stories. :tehe:

Getting new notebooks always inspires me, I have this weird need to fill all the pages.
Plus just random stuff that happens and means nothing, like seeing two people eating out together or someone weird on the bus.

Almost anything can give me an idea. I can sit outside and something silly, like a bug flying into a tree, will give me an idea.

Go in to a bookstore and look at the teen lit section. It makes me want to puke.

Read the covers they are so cheesy and empty. Write for substance.

Lately I've just kind of been watching people... and that's not creepy at all. :XD

Like when I'm on the bus or when I'm out shopping by myself and sitting down to lunch, I'll kind of just watch people or listen to them talking, or I'll see a person and wonder what their life might be like.

Or whenever I'm in the car for a long time, I'll tend to take notice of all the houses and wonder what kind of people live inside and what their life story might be.

Hmm where do I get my ideas from.
Different ideas come from different places y'know.
For Devil's Blvd I got the idea in L.A. class when my friend/cousin
was taking down notes for how to write a letter and as a joke he
put down 666 Devil's Blvd, I've been there came back then forgot my
t-shirt so I had to go back and get it and now i'm back, and me and him
basically have began writing out a story based on his and his brothers life.
Then the others, I have no idea what-so-ever. One (Roxanne) was part of a dream and that's about it

Reading is the best way for me to gain ideas.

My ideas come from books I've read and movies - the media in general plays a big role, but lately it's been dreams I've had or just random thoughts that have come to me. I find that when I'm in the shower, I get my best ideas.

Lately, my ideas have come from either dreams, pictures, or from stuff I have written in the past.

I get ideas from a lot of random places, particularly, commercials. I also troll lj for different prompts when I'm bored.

I think the majority of my ideas stem from things I wish were available to read or what I want to read about at any given time but can't find. I just end up writing it myself
