"This is Will." Patrick told Pete, tossing his jacket on the bed. "He's deaf."

And Pete, in all his awkward grace, turned to the boy named Will. "You're deaf?"

Patrick hit his face, filled with second-hand embarrassment. And Will, who could read lips sometimes, laughed. He nodded and signed something that Patrick interpreted as 'no shit'.

He had a halo, but he was no angel. When he kissed me, I knew I was going straight to Hell.

The smell of cooking didn't make him feel at home. He felt repulsed, gagging and feeling the thing inside him clawing, clawing a way out of him.

Underneath the willow tree there were 3 artifacts, the three of them designed to rescue humanity from their perilous destiny, to save the world from everything that once plagued it.

They consisted of a pen, a blank page, and a piece of gold.

Them whom yielded the pen would hold the power of words and infinite knowledge. Them whom touched the blank page would be the master of every idea that crossed the human mind. Them whom held the piece of gold would be filled with infinite fortune to succeed in whatever good deed they tried.

There was a feathered boa tightly caressing his neck. One tight knot hanged from the ceiling, while the other was constricting his neck, preventing oxygen from going into his lungs; something that could have threatened his pleasurable moment.

It was definitely something I never did before, but he liked it and it meant less "emotional" bonding, or name-calling.

She laid on bed, looking hopelessly at the typewriter, her hands caressing the letter cases, in position to start any time soon. But there were no words craving to escape; there was nothing she could say. But she laid still, awaiting restlessly for the inspiration to arrive.

I could hardly recognize my reflection in the mirror; I seemed a stranger, even to myself. That smile on my face was not a normal attribute of my visage, and its presence even now was somewhat startling. I had always been able to fake a smile - being a journalist, I needed to seem approachable - but this was completely involuntary.

Sort of just came to me. Hopefully I'll wind up using it. :)

She stopped to look out over the bridge as other people continued to move around her. As she watched the water fall an unknown distance and crash into the depths below, a sudden feeling of homesickness swept over her. There was nothing familiar here.

His hands are on my back, and while he talks through his sleep, I let go of the gun.
And he wraps his arms around me like thin telephone wires, and streams electricity through my body.
For a little less than a night, I hear his channels through our airwave skin.

There's a joint dangling from my lips, sunshine blossoming through the window. It's made a warm patch on the carpet and it feels good to lie in it. Red lipstick makes stains on my champagne glass, and I raise it in the air. Sunlight bursts through the tinted liquid and I watch the bubbles.

I wonder maybe if it's time to take off my wedding dress and realize he's not coming.

Unbelievable. That's what you are unfucking believable, and you know what the sad part is? I still love you after everything you put me through, I still have feelings for you. I guess they just don't get the meaning of "not wanted."

The crocodile eyed its prey with an ancient laziness. It had survived alongside its towering and hungry cousins; where they had disappeared, the crocodile passed the K/T boundary unscathed. To the crocodile, soft and warm-blooded beasts were a fresh nuisance; hardly noticeable. To the crocodile, ice ages came and went too quickly to keep track. To the crocodile, India had met Asia with a crash.

It had crawled along the earth's ever-changing shores for hundreds of millions of years. It could wait.

She walked out to the courtyard with the other students. They bustled around her, separating into their groups of friends, but she had nowhere to go. She stayed still. Looking around for a free place to sit that wouldn't be in anyone's way, she didn't even notice someone come up behind her. A tap on the shoulder made her jump.

Why would you want me? Me out of all the other girls that are throwing themselves at you. Why would you pick me? I'm the socially retarded butterfly that's forever flapping in a circle. I go no where, I do nothing, I have no social life.

His eyes had been on her all night; it only took a slight nod to signal her. She sauntered over, her gaze hard but alluring, her hips swaying with each step she took. When she approached his table, she put her hand on her hips, where the sides of her itty bitty boyshorts hugged.

    "Can I help you?"

He gave her a once-over briefly, before giving a smooth answer. "How about a dance?"

    "It'll cost ya."

    "How much?"

"How much're you willing to pay?" His eyebrows went up just ever so slightly. But his eyes glittered, and he grinned.

this is something i might actually end up finishing...but i'm not sure...

He came on a chilly October day. I didn’t notice his arrival at first; it was only when I heard music that I glanced out of the window from my seat right next to it. That’s when I saw him. He was sitting at the fountain, playing his guitar. It sounded so beautiful, yet it sounded so sad. He looked too old to be a student here, but he looked too young to be a teacher. I kept watching him till I heard Mrs. Berl calling me.

“Eloise, close the window. I wonder who’s playing that terrible music. Music isn’t allowed on campus…I’ll have to tell Principal Furnas after class…” she mumbled to herself and to us. I closed my window, but I didn’t take my eyes off of him. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking I thought he was cute, and I fell in love with him right there and then. But you’re wrong. I wasn’t staring at him because I’d fallen in love. I kept staring at him because I knew that things were going to change, and it was going to be because of him.

When he came, he said her name and it was the closest thing she ever got to love.
