Anyone got any romantic tearkers for me? tehe I'm thinking along the lines of 'Dear John' 'The Notebook' etc. Thankyou if you can help me. Arms
Life as a House. Not as romantic as the others though, so might not qualify.

Please give me horror films people. As many and as scary as you can. I've most likely already seen any that you can think to recommend, but please, rec them anyway. I haven't watched anything scary in a few days and I'm going through withdrawal. xD

Not gore or horror comedies, everything else goes.

And name as many as you can possibly muster.

    Thanks. Cute

I recommend The Clockwork Orange. It's not gore obvious terror, but it's psychologically terrifying. At least to me.

  • I'd like a list of some good marathon movies. Meaning movies that have several installments. (X-Men, Resident Evil, The Mummy, etc.)

The Lord of the Rings, Saw (you know I had to suggest them, there are after all seven films!), Scream, Fritt Vilt (Norwegian horror films, there's three of them, the first two are amazing and the third watchable. I believe they're called Cold Prey in English), Wrong Turn, The Matrix, Pirates of the Caribbean, Shrek, Spider-Man, Batman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Twilight, Jurassic Park, Narnia, The Fast and the Furious, Star Trek, Transformers, Rocky, Jaws, Terminator, The Bourne Identity, American Pie, Ocean's Eleven, Austin Powers, Back to the Future, Police Academy, Die Hard, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and Halloween.

Those are the ones I can think of from the top of my head.
And they all consist of three or more films.

  • I would like to find a good, mythological/Fantasy Action/adventure Film, where they build in a good back story. Sort of like I am number Four, How they build in the story of his people and the past, without too many flash backs.

  • Movies with possessive men? I just finished watching Heathers and I loved Christian Slater's character. So any movies that have characters like that?

  • I recently saw The Woman In Black, and I'm really keen to get my creepy, Victorian era horror on!

Besides Tim Burton/Johnny Depp films, can anyone think of some good spine-chilling movies set in that era? Ghosts or anything supernatural would be a huge plus! Not picky about when they came out. I'm not exactly up to date with watching things.

A lot of 'classic' horror films set during the Victorian era - e.g. Frankenstein (1931), The Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1931), Dracula (1931), Dracula's Daughter (1936), The Invisible Man (1933), etc. Some films later on were also set around the same era too - well, The Innocents (1961) is the only good one that comes to mind now, but there are others. I'm not sure what you consider to be 'spine-chilling' - since they were made before modern special effects etc they're not quite jump-out-of-your-seat-scary, but they're very interesting films to watch.

  • Movies on Netflix (instant) that are really funny or thought-provoking, but not documentaries.

Also, not necessarily on instant, anything comparable to The Time Traveler's Wife? (Like, the romance but with so much thought-provoking stuff that even my boyfriend likes that movie. He read the book!)

  • @ waits.
Have you tried The Black Dahlia? It may or may not be of interest to you, but it's got that olden time mixed with color thing going on and it's told through old film reels in some parts.

  • @ kafka.

Thanks! I'll check those out. Some slightly more modern things would be good, too, if anyone knows of any.

  • Anyone here who can recommend me movies of abused boys in homes? Or simply boys who are put into homes for the crimes they've committed? I've watched Boy A and Sleepers already and these movies are an example of what I'm looking for.

  • I need something on heroin addicts. Preferrably biographical, and hopefully not rated R or above. I'd like for this film to talk/show the symptons of heroin. Thanks.
