Aha, I'm glad someone does. I get kind of tired of people trying to say that it's the author who's being inactive, which might be partially true, but not everyone has enough courage to reach out to other people. We all need that little push to do so. That's sad! D: I actually like criticism, as long as it's respectful of course and I'm a pretty good sport about getting it too. Did the author ask for tips? I mean I know some people despite asking for tips somewhere in their story, don't get that a concrit review is part of the tips they're asking for.

No, but as soon as I read the chapter I saw glaring errors. I'm very used to getting con crit...I had a literary agent
"shred" 50 pages of an ms, so my skin's pretty think these days =). But I pointed out the errors, gave some suggestions for how to correct them, etc. Went back to see if there'd been a response (some authors ask follow up questions) and the story was gone =(

I admit I've never gotten any severe concrit criticism at that level but I tend to have thick skin when it comes to most things anyways. I wonder why she deleted her story? I mean surely she didn't have to? Maybe she's possibly rewriting the story? To fix the errors and put your tips to good use? Think

That's my hope. I'm always considerate about my advice, I tell it how I see it. I know that not all writers here are trying to get published like I am (thus why I took my stories down...that and they were full of unseen errors...embarrassing...), so I do phrase things carefully. Hopefully the story comes back and hopefully what I told the author was helpful.

I'm afraid I'm not that good at giving out Criticism (comes from me being too nice I suppose. Shifty). And it's good that you're considerate. I think some people just don't know how to process the difference between a flame and a concrit review, you know? I enjoy writing as both a hobby and a possible career. I'm sure it will, in some shape or form. She needs some time to I guess re-evaluate her story... maybe. Because not everyone takes their stories down forever.

I'm currently working with a CP on my current ms while I wait to hear back from two small publishers. For me, writing is all I want to do as a career. I love my current career and the two will work together.

Hopefully a revised story comes soon...I really wanted to see where it was going!

I hope getting published works out for you. If you get rejected, then it's a sign that you tried and you can keep on trying. Cute (I know what I just said sounds a bit generic, maybe a tadbit immatureish and I apologize for it. What career do you have now?

I hope so, too, because it's always exciting to see how much a story changes when it's rewritten. Cute

Thanks! I have hundreds of rejections, but I'll keep trying =). Right now I'm a radio dj/producer and occasional copywriter, so I'm in a good job and hoping to add published author to that list in the future. =). Good luck on your writing career as well!

I don't like the fact that there seems to be limited privacy settings. Right now all you can do is stop people from seeing some of your stuff. I wish there was an option to make your stories only visible to registered users. I also with you could block people as well.
I wish we had more settings like this, too, and I especially wish we could block people because I had to deal with someone stalking me for months upon months and there was not a single thing I could do because technically, they weren't doing anything wrong so I couldn't report it to an admin but it made me super uncomfortable so blocking them would have been ideal at the time; I would have felt better, at least. And I definitely wish we had the ability to make stories only visible to registered users.

Even though it's been years later, I still don't like how wide the site layout is. Coffee

The way the signatures look against a blue background and then the way they look against the white backgrounds. It kinda screws things up.

Whenever I go looking for a roleplay, I see everyone more willing to be the female characters than they are male characters. What's wrong with being a male character in a roleplay. And then they mention that doubling is fine with them as long they get their favorite characters.... Um, I know I just did the same thing but I always offer to be the guy and doubling doesn't really matter to me but still....

I've almost never roleplayed but I guarantee I'd instantly play as the male characters... really no one else does? Weird.

Aha same here. I mean I understand wanting to play a character of your own gender but since we're all writers on this site and with the abundant of girls that love slash you'd think they wouldn't mind playing guys in a heterosexual roleplay.
