I can see him doing that more than playing music. I can see him maybe playing music as something fun but not really caring if he's in the spotlight or not. I'd definitely cry if he left ATL.

1. The hollywood fame will get to Alex's head, leaving him confused and forgetting about what's truly important. He'll become an arrogant, selfish bitch who thinks he's better than all this bandmates and thus this will cause the band to suffer in ways like...
2. Zack leaving 'cause he's tired of it all, tired of the touchy fans and tired of his friends becoming someone completely different. Thus he'll go live by the beach like I said and catch waves for a living. Ultimately a nice girl (me, mhm) would walk by and it would be love at first sight and we'd live together and everything would be amazing.
3. Rian would be puzzled and not know what to do. After weeks of confusion and trying to make Zack to stay he reaches the conclusion that Alex is indeed his best friend and he will not walk out on him. He'll try to make Alex come to his senses and realize what a douchebag he's become. But when that fails he'll still play drums in the band 'cause it's what he loves and he wouldn't give it up for anything in the world.
4. Jack would be completely oblivious of all of this keeping his happy-go-lucky nature and claim that he "loves peanuts" whenever an interviewer tries to reach him for a comment. He won't understand why Zack left and would claim that "Alex has always been this way. He's just more popular now." He'd also be happy 'cause it means that finally, he'd be the one to play acoustic guitar instead of Zack!
5. Flyzik would tell everyone to shut their mouths, beat some sense into Alex, make him apologize to his bandmates, rescue Zack from the evil waves and sharks and make them all write extraordinary music alá Put Up or Shut Up again.
6. As for me, I'd start my own band with Brianna, Kelsi, Charis, Lozza, Roxie, Dibs and everyone else who used to be a frequent poster, making making our name known by being ATLs merchgirl (and Zack's hot wife) and the future would be exceptionally bright for all of us.
7. Eventually Zack would leave me for Charis and I would find the mystery guy who's the guitar tech for The Audition (his name is Ben, anyone know anything else about him?) and we'd be in bed, making hot babies all day long.
This was beautiful and I feel like an accurate prediction of the future. Zack loves me and I will always love him end of story.
