Just thought I'd post again on this thread, as a testament to how much my music collection has grown.

When I started this thread, at the beginning of 2010, I had this many songs:
68,693 songs (199 days, 7 hours, and 7 minutes of music)

    Today I have this:
126,235 songs (2 years, 195 days, 10 hours, and 35 minutes of music)

I am !@#$ing insane. But I love my music.

leaf's weird: What kind of music do you listen to? And what is the one music player capable of holding all of that? Oh, and has every song been played at least once? That must be a nice collection. Here I thought I was music crazy...Guess not, at least not to the extent of having over 100,000 songs.

    Let's see...

    11107 songs (28 days, 2 hours, and 54 seconds)

    @Sailor Neptune:
I've got pretty much every genre in existence, including more than a few that some people may not know of. One of those would be Post-Rock, which I'd say is my favorite, as is Sadcore and Slowcore. I also love most forms of Indie music, especially Indie Folk. I was a hardcore metalhead when I was a teenager, but I've mostly grown away from that genre. I still listen to it occasionally.

I like most things I manage to find or hear, though, which is pretty much everything. Thus the reason my collection as obscene as it is.

I use a rather obscure open-source music player called Quod Libet to handle my music. It was originally designed for use on Linux but it has a port for Windows. Pretty much every other player I've tried either crashes consistently or tries to fry my computer just when trying to load my library. I still find it very interesting that iTunes with an empty library, under Windows, at least, uses about as much memory and even more of my CPU than Quod Libet loaded with my massive collection.

There is one other player I've tried just a few weeks ago, though, that can handle my library other than Quod Libet. It's called Guayadeque, and only has a Linux version currently, but I really prefer Quod Libet's interface over it and it still lacks features that Quod Libet has that I can't live without.

I don't think every song has, no. I do know for a fact, though, that every album has had at least one good listen. With a library this big, it really is hard to listen to everything, especially considering I do still have a fair number of absolute favorite bands that I hold over the rest of the collection.

...that post ended up a bit longer than I planned. xD

That is a pretty big collection you've got there, though. What kind of music are you into?

    Here's my update.

    14,873
    38 days, 9 hours, 26 minutes, and 17 seconds. A total of 74:13 GB
There are a few music videos thrown in there though. My sister also has around roughly 200 songs in my library.

    @ leaf's wierd

Wow. I totally just saw your post on here. Sorry. I'm kind of bad at keeping up on the forums. I love post-rock, Explosions In The Sky, Mono, and Godspeed! You Black Emperor are my favorites.

I have a semi wide range of music, you can find some specific artists and bands on my profile, if curious. I'll list what I'm into though.

I like rock, post-rock, alternative, indie, various pop (punk pop, rock pop), symphonic metal, "nu metal", pop, some country, some rap (mostly Eminem), R&B, film scores, soundtracks, disney, broadway recordings, classical, electronica, other instrumental music, some jazz, various folk, and Christian/worship .

Let's see... today's count is... 129,846 songs (2 years, 209 days, 1 hour, and 44 minutes), currently taking up 969.4 gigs on my external hard drive.

Godspeed! You Black Emperor are one of my favorite artists of all time. I also really dig A Silver Mt. Zion, and I'll go therough phases where I like one more than the other. Explosions In The Sky and Mono I know but I haven't actually heard that much of. I also really dig Sigur Ros, The Album Leaf, This Will Destroy You, From Monument To Masses, Crippled Black Pheonix, 65daysofstatic.... the list goes on and on and on.

I'm also really into Indie Rock, and I've been getting into Indie Folk latley. Bands like Mumford & Sons, Sea Wolf, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Entertainment For The Braindead... my favorite indie band though would have to be Carissa's Wierd, thus half of my username and profile picture.

Went on a bit of a cd spree this past week. (Bought 21 cds...)

    17,780 songs.

I think I like accidentally deleted 500 when I was trying to get rid of stuff I don't need on my laptop anymore.

    Another update...

    136,083 songs
    12,474+ albums
    4 years, 74 days, 21 hours, 26 minutes
    1.1 Terabytes

So on average it seems like I download around 150 albums a month. Looks about right. Little surprised on the 4 year mark being passed. I remember when 1 year was a huge miletone.

^Same here! My collection seems so modest compared to some of you lot (especially Leaf's)! Gives me something to aspire for though. XD

2606 songs, 7.1 days, 16.39 gb. My iPod holds 120 gb though, so at least there's no chance of me running out of space anytime soon.

I only have about 16,000 at the moment, but I used to have a LOT more until my computer crashed about a month ago. Before that, it was around 34,000, so double. Needless to say, I am still devastated about losing half my library, but ah well. xD I'd also have wayyy more if I bought more CDs instead of downloading, because I'm missing a lot of songs by a lot of artists because I just can't afford to buy that many CDs but there's a lot of music that I can't find online.

But leaf's buzzard-- truly impressive. Before your comment I'd known of only one person who had more music than me and that was an awesome teacher of mine in 10th grade. He had close to 200,000. I didn't believe him until he showed me. Shocked
