    The Doctor:
^ I am guessing that if they are zombies, they can walk under the water. (A la Pirates of the Caribbean.)
The ones in World War Z can walk underwater.

But then what about the amount of time it would take to walk under the water??

Not to mention that if they walked through a really deep ocean, the pressure of the water would just crush them.

    BOTHERED me!

^ So they die. But the infection, depending on how long it takes to activate, might be able to sneak its way on to one of those planes/ships trying to emigrate. An unknowing passenger could enter a plane seemingly healthy, but when the plane lands have the people could be infected.

    That's how cholera spread.

And then it would still take longer than Stephen Fry said. So my point stands :P

But but but he was WRONG! (Not mathematically, sure, but it ain't all about the maths.) It destroyed my understanding of the universe utterly!

Mathematically, it would take 38 days for the whole of the human race to become zombified. According to the QI researchers. (Or Stephen, if you wanna maintain the illusion.) But the equation doesn't take into account the fact that there are oceans in the world, and that if the first outbreak was an isolated incident, it could take months for it to get out of whatever country it started in.

Thus, Stephen Fry was wrong, and the world is ending.

(I can't believe I just typed all that out seriously.)

Mathematically? How did they research this in the first place?

Don't worry. During the zombie apocalypse, most people will be too busy dying to put you in jail for owning firearms. Get a uzi!!!

I plan to spend it on developing time travel to stop the zombies in the past.

I can already see the twist: In your travel to the past, unknowingly you bring along the zombie virus, thus starting the infection in the first place.

And I think the virus would probably have a very easy time spreading. Swine flu hit the whole world, within just a few months. It's scary.

    Ah.
If that should occur, I could always go back and kill off the uppity little git who decided to crawl out of the water in the year dot.

I guess I'd then work on the rule no. 1: cardio haha and become a swordsman. I always wanted to be a swordsman. No, I'll be a whiplady. I'd have two whips and chop zombie's heads off with those.

    The Doctor:
Osterhagen: A system of nuclear missiles inserted into specific points in the Earth's crust, causing the planet to be ripped apart. It would be controlled by several stations set up over the world, needing a Master Key only owned by top ranking UN officers and two other stations live. It was set up by UNIT (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce] if at one point the suffering of humanity is so great, so without hope, it becomes the preferable option.

I still don't understand how they are still able to keep going without any energy/water/oxygen intake.

It is conceivable for a passive illness to overtake the world but a rabid one? I'm not sure. A rabid one could be contained easier, I think.
I know the Osterhagen Key is from Doctor Who, but is there a real Osterhagen Key in place today? And if there was, would we know about it? (I doubt we would, but still.) And what world leaders would potentially have keys?

    -

Anyways, back on topic. I honestly have no clue what I would do if a Zombie Virus was real. If it really did happen, and was in one country, I think the most logical thing to do would be to shut down all borders and travel in and out of that country. If you did that, absolutely NO ONE went in or out (long shot, I know), are the chances that it would stay in that country good?
