Tim was about to reply, but then thought back to Dick's earlier words. He'd leave him alone if that's what he wanted, at least while he was safely in the manor. Instead he sipped his tea.
Tim tried to keep his expression from dropping, but didn't quite succeed. Whether Dick could take Jason alone wasn't the question; Jason would fight dirty, while Dick wouldn't.
Tim paused and said softly, "And I would have gone after him too." He looked back at Dick. "This guy isn't going to fight fair; he's not going to care who you are, he'll kill you anyway."
"I can't just let him run round Gotham, Tim." Dick rolled over. "I want Bruce to come back from whereever he's hiding so he can kick me back to touch and let me be Nightwing again."
"You don't have to do it alone, you know." Tim had the urge to go and hug him, but didn't. Dick might be a bit freaked out. "I'll see you in the morning."
Tim paused again, and slowly looked back at Dick with a strange expression on his face; it maybe a little hard to work out what exactly, but it definitely didn't read 'no.'
(I won't be on Saturday or Sunday because I'm doing my practice Silver DoE expedition, and won't have internet. )
