I have a Word document full of random phrases I like ("roll with the punches," "look alive," ect) as well as accidental brainstorms, words, and snippets of poetry that comes to me randomly throughout the day. If I'm in a mad dash for a title, I'll browse that document in search of something that fits, but most of the time I have the title already in my head.
A List of Best Intentions has gone through so many titles, I swear. At first it was
Hey, You're a Star, then it was
And You're a Star, then
So I Got This List... before I settled on the most recent title, which fits better than any of the other ones.
Who Knows, Who Cares came from a photo I saw on Tumblr a few years ago; it was the caption, and I don't know if it was the title of the photo, but it just stuck with me. (I didn't know there was a song with the same name, so yeah.) It's probably the most well-fitting title of all of my stories. So much ambiguity in just four words.
(I've been wrestling with the idea of a
Generation Why Bother sequel but I cannot, for the life of me, think of a decent title. I was thinkin'
Earth to Oshie or
Earth to Me, but it's hella up in the air.)
