Are there some local bands in your area that you think should get some love? Post a link to their youtube/facebook/pure volume or what not here; as well as where they're from and what genre they are :)

    Double Lined Minority:
    Facebook
    Youtube
Double Lined Minority is a pop-punk band from Gold Coast, Australia. They name their musical influences as Fall Out Boy, Blink 182, Simple Plan and All Time Low. They were formed in 2009 and have an album released, along with several music videos. They also scored a place at Australia's music festival, Big Day Out; opening for acts such as My Chemical Romance, Kanye West, Foster The People and Parkway Drive among others.
They consist of Eddie Salazar: 18, lead vocals and guitar. Cameron Griffiths: 17, back up vocals and guitar. Blair Klein: 20, bass. Jackary Merriman: 19, drums. For such young guys they're actually pretty good, and they're very nice guys, well worth checking out :)

    Assemble The Skyline.
Tomorrow Don't Matter Tonight - Their newest single
    Their Facebook

Assemble The Skyline is a pop-punk band from California. They kind of remind me of an early Good Charlotte mixed with a little bit of Blink-182 and Sum-41. They did Warped Tour last year and I'm pretty sure they're doing it this year as well. They've got their albums on iTunes as well, so check them out. Cute

Alien War Party is the only local band I know that's from the town I live in. I know there are several more in the surrounding cities/towns. I'm not sure if they have any usic on youtube though.

My cousin Casey has two bands that originated from the city I was born in. Mudruum was the first one he founded but I don't think they're active anymore. His current (and active) band is T.A.O.. T.A.O. doesn't have any music on youtube that I know of but Mudruum does. The easiest way too find his music to search his name, (Casey Bloom).

I'm a member of a band called the Whippersnappers. It's a folk/rock duo that mostly consists of me (guitar) and my friend Brent (banjo), but we usually get other local musicians to perform with us. We don't have much on YouTube right now, but we're working on it.

50 CAL is an All Native American Youth Rock Band from California. My friend is the guitarist and backing vocals. They've done many concerts in schools and for fundraisers. They're pretty good, and all of them are great musicians! Their musical influences include Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, System of a Down, Disturbed, Godsmack, etc. They are: Chance Perez (Guitar/Backing Vocals), Dennis Beresford (Vocals), Jory (Drums), Cody Perez (Chance's brother // Bass), Gunner Turner (Guitar), Gatlin Turner (Gunner's brother // Keyboard). They're working on an album and they're pretty stoked! They are very creative and deserved to be more recognized.

This band is called Encounters. They're from Trenton, Georgia, USA; and I'm friends with a couple of the band members. I'm not certain what genre they fall under, but they're pretty heavy. Give them a listen; the video above includes lyrics.

One of my favourite bands at the moment are Hogan.
They're from Offaly, Ireland. I'm friends with the band and they're sweethearts (:
I don't really know what genre they are... probably pop-punk. But they can be a bit dancy sometimes too.

I'm in a band from North Wales, UK called Red Riot! We're a pop punk band. We have an interesting array of influences though. Mainly Alkaline Trio, Blink 182, Papa Roach and Pink Floyd to name a few. We've been played on National radio (BBC Radio 1 Wales) Heres one of our track which you can buy on Itunes and spotify if you like us!

I've found a lot more bands/artists since I've started uni. Anna Sweeney is one of the girls on my course, and she's amazing. She's got her own EP and she just released a single, and she really is fantastic. We also have Fatherson, who are pretty well known around Scotland. I used to go to brass band with the drummer (my claim to fame tehe). Baltimore League are another local band (I went to brass band with 3 of the guys and go to uni with one of them, all fantastic people and ridiculously talented) that've made it quite big for themselves lately. And finally, The Ciarzan Affair, who are doing...I don't know, it's like a mix of the old Panic! stuff mashed with...Enter Shikari? It's really difficult to describe, but they're pretty awesome.

There's an awesome up and coming rock/metal band from Chicago called Fist To The Sky. Back in November I went and saw another local band that's more known, and these guys were one of the openers. I fell in love at first listen.

    Facebook
    Official website

They're super cool dudes who love what they do, and if you like hard rock/metal music like Avenged Sevenfold, etc, then you won't be disappointed by these guys. I'm seeing them again on March 29th, and this time I plan on actually talking to them in person since I didn't back in november. They're sweet guys though, and they'll actually respond on facebook, etc. One of the guitarists actually called me a "BAMF" because I donated $50 to them to help them fund their new EP and "tour." Then I got an email from them asking what I was interested in for my donation, which I still haven't decided yet, because I wasn't expecting the trick question.

If you want to get a quick listen to them, I"ll post a video here. I definitely think they're worth a listen to anybody who's a fan of rock/metal music.
