New Mibba

I'm getting used to the new site. It was a little weird getting around but overall I see the better aspects of it. I pushed through with being lost because I know most veterans like myself were going to lost. I love the comment section next to the layout, very easily accessible. I don't mind it now since everything is still in the works and I'm looking forward to more updates.

One thing that's bothering me though is how you can't see the chapter descriptions on the summary page of a story. My descriptions went with my chapter titles and having a lot of chapters, I took pride in them and it took a little bit of work. I just wanted to know if they can be seen again or if it's permanent because nothing in my stories changed with the update except that. And it's the only thing I wanted to address.

I am happy now though, I think everything you guys are doing is amazing. :)

^There's been talk of possibly having a little thing on the side, by the icons and such, that tell you whether a user is online or not. I'd really like that, actually.

Interesting idea...would be be able to "appear offline" if we were on? Just curious as I'm not into the social aspect of things and would like to "hide" when I'm around.

Same, I really wouldn't like not being "invisible". That idea is a step too far in the Facebook direction, to be honest.

However, on Facebook you can be invisible. So being invisible here as far as online status goes, would actually be a step towards Facebook and not away from.

But I really don't want people to know when I'm online. I don't want people stalking me.

I don't think online = people stalking you.
On the Old Mibba everyone was found in the "who's online" list.

^I don't think that's what it is at all – there were online indicators on Dujo's other sites at least in 2006, which if memory serves was before Facebook got chat and online indicators. And they've been around on message boards in general for years and years before that. They're just a way to know if someone's around to talk, but on Dujo's sites there's always been an option to hide your online status (it hid you from the list on the board index page as well). I'd be surprised if we got online statuses with no way to hide them.

That was obviously a joke. If I was literally going to stalk someone I'd do it regardless of whether I knew they were online or not. Also, someone posting stories/on the forum would obviously also say "hi, I'm online".

Well, I can only say for myself, but I had mine checked to hide my status and I never showed up on that list.

True, but at the end of the day, if I was going to literally stalk someone - which is against the law - why would I post about it openly on a forum? I don't know if there'll be a function that says we're online or not, but I'd like it, because if I'm down I like being able to see what friends of mine are online that I can vent to.

I dunno, there are a lot of weird/crazy people on the internet, as well as lots of people who break the law. But not the point. Has Dujo actually said this somewhere or what? (If so, could someone post the link?)

Is there a tutorial on how to navigate this????
