What Are Some of Your Pet Peeves?

Well, what are they? Mine are people who whine about how bad their life is when someone out there has got it worse, and when you go to a coffee shop or restaurant and there's one person sitting at a table for four or more.

When people uselessly knock on the door. As in, they open my bedroom door while knocking, or they knock and then before I even answer, they let themselves in. It's usually only my friends who do this, but omg it drives me fucking insane.

I really hate it when people sit next to me on the bus when there are empty seats, or right behind me in the library. I'm always paranoid that they're reading over my shoulder, or that they can hear my music and are judging me. I get that some people, especially old people, hate sitting alone, but I need my bus time to relax...

When people taller than 5'3" complain about short. This is probably my biggest pet peeve because I am short, most likely stuck forever at 4'10". I hardly ever complain about my shortness - a pro is that it makes sneaking up on people incredibly easy, which is something I truly love. When people that are a whole freakin' head taller than me complain about being short, especially when I'm standing right there, just... I'm pissed because they really have no right - 5'3" for a teenage girl is a pretty average height, when you think about it - but it also makes me feel incredibly shitty. To elaborate, I feel like a bug that just got squashed by a shoe.

The closet second to that would be when writer's create characters that are short, like me, and then never mention the negative toll it has on the character, or when none of the other characters say, "Aw, you're so short! It's adorable!" or something along those lines. All of my friends, and even some people who aren't my friends, always say that my shortness makes me cute. Also, said character's sexual experiences will be very different. A guy around the height of 5'6" is going to be worried about crushing a girl of my size where he wouldn't if the girl was closer to his height.

Being short isn't just gleeful times running under people's legs, sneaking up on people, or always looking young till you get wrinkles - there's a huge flaw to that too, seeing as I'll be 18 in less than five months I can easily pass for a 12-year old. Just like any other body type, it has it's cons, emotional and physical.

It annoys the heck out of me when people misuse the phrase "Breakfast of Champions."

Noisy. Eating.

UGH.

When my mom coughs obnoxiously loudly while passing people smoking in a designated smoking area.

Ugh, like, rude.

People who think it's cool to be self-centred.

People who ask if they're allowed to do something, when they've already done it.

What. Is. The. Point.

When you're venting to someone about how stressed you are, and they have to go on and on trying to make their life sound like it's so much harder than yours, like it's some sort of competition to see who has more shit on their plate.

Those who chew their gum with their mouth open.

When people say "ew" while a gay/lesbian couple kisses.

People who read and fawn over really badly written books.

When people are difficult for no reason other than the sake of being difficult.

When people talk really loudly in a public place.

When people always want attention and never really care what you're saying in a conversation, because everything has to be about them.

When people eat with their mouths open.

When people are in the middle of eating and decide to talk, but cover up their mouth while they're chewing and talking at the same fucking time.

When people think other people are copying them (style, makeup, haircut, etc wise)

When my fellow peers are constantly disrespecting teachers.

When people barge into my room without knocking.

Laughing really loudly.

Asking me if I want meat when they know I'm a vegetarian.

when stores that are obviously closed leave their 'open' sign turned on / hanging up
even if it's 2am and why would that place be open I just get irrationally mad
