What if there was a way to write usernames in, if we did the "most likely to..." bit, so it's not voting for who's better, but you can add people you know into the category(ies) just for fun. So there'd be multiple people for one thing, yes, but still, it could be fun.

And it could be approved by the person being listed. So if I added Dru to "most likely to comment on a blog" then she'd have to approve it before her username was added there.

I don't know how the old Yearbook went, just throwing out a suggestion Shifty

I like that idea, especially including more than one person for each award. Because even if you don't win anything, it's still fun to vote for your friends and see which of your friends won.
As someone who never really won stuff in high school, yeah, it kind of sucks, but you still feel happy for your friends. (All I won for senior ballots was most creative but that doesn't mean I felt left out). It would suck to ruin the fun for everyone because one person got butthurt. Plus, there are do many members on mibba anyway, it's obvious that not everyone is going to be a "Most likely" of something.

    I don't really like the idea of having categories at all, just because someone is always going to feel left out and that would be sad Sad that's not what Mibba's about. I think the yearbook is just supposed to be a place for people to write their "sign offs" that people typically do ::think;

I still don't like the idea of having voting or picking people. I mean if you want to make one up for yourself, you can.

    @ Katie Mosing
The old Yearbook was more just everyone wrote a summary of themselves.

So mine would be like: Druscilla Ryan, senior. Member of the Grammar Nazis, Not-So-Secret-"Secret"-Fanfiction Club, debating enthusiast. Most likely to cite her sources.

Or someone like that. Most of us wrote a paragraph or so, said where we were from, maybe a few interests. And then people could comment on your page, I think as well.

"Because even if you don't win anything, it's still fun to vote for your friends and see which of your friends won."

That maybe your viewpoint and I respect it, but you can't assume that everyone feels the same as you. I think feelings would be hurt if this turned into a voting thing. It's happened before. And the point of a Mibba Yearbook is to avoid the issues of a high school yearbook, at least I would hope.

I also don't think we should have categories, or most likely to... kind of things, just because people will no doubt feel left out. I think it sounds fine and fun enough just writing a short paragraph about yourself like the example dru gave.

    @ dru's troubled soul
I understand your point. I guess for me personally, I try to be happy for others fortune rather than feel sorry for myself. But I know I can't make everyone have my opinion on the matter and it's not my shindig anyway so if you think it's a bad idea...

I agree with the others that we shouldn't do the voting thing. I remember a few years back that users decided to do an unofficial awards thing and it didn't seem to end well. It only ended with fighting and hurt feelings. Most likely, this would end the same way. While I'm sure some would enjoy it, a lot of people would feel hurt and left out. Ultimately, it would only create strife between the users and that's not really something we need more of around here.

But other than that, I like the idea of this. It could be pretty fun for users to compile something like this. ^^

OH MY GOD THIS. THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

I don't really like the idea of categories either. In high school I was voted 'most likely to forget her own name' and it did sadden me quite a bit. Besides, like everyone else pointed out, you always have someone left out and that also makes me sad.

I think if people can fill in their own 'most likely' that would be okay. And then, if they wanted, they could do a blog or something where people give them ideas and they pick the most popular.
