Birthday Notifications!

I feel like on the whole news feed/message board thing there should be a notification for when it's your friend's birthday! Then they can get all the birthday love that they deserve!

There used to be a balloon on your posts in the forums when it was your birthday. I think having that back would be great.

I think the balloons were a nice idea, but that only told you when it was their birthday when you were browing the forums. You wouldn't know unless you saw one of their posts, and that's not helpful for people who don't post/go on the forums.

I think having something underneath the forums, or an alert on the My Mibba page, would be nice

Maybe the balloon could be on the user's profile as well. It's just I don't think having an alert for each of your friend's birthdays would be a great thing to do. I mean, if they're like me and just accept friend requests even if they don't talk to the user, then having an alert for each of their friends would be a bit tiring, don't you think? Having it on the profile and on the forums would let people know without having an alert about it.

I can understand that, totally.

What if there was a section on the My Mibba page underneath the link to all the mini sites, just linking to the people on your friends list who are celebrating birthdays. Maybe it could even be closed out, like the other updates on the My Mibba page is.

You know how we can decide the friends we want updates from on our My Mibba page? Maybe there could be a section where we can check or uncheck boxes for each of our friends as to whether or not a birthday alert appears on our My Mibba page. It's wouldn't be an alert where we get notified about it, but rather it'd appear in the feed of recommendations and updates. That way people who don't go onto the forums (or their profile that day) will know if it's one of their friend's birthday, provided that they want to be aware of that.

That's what I was trying to get at, be on the feed and not a notification. I can't talk right today XD
