Rose smiled brightly when Jack reappeared, making grabby hands for her food. "Thank you, baby." She leaned up to give Jack a kiss before sitting her plate in her lap. Her instinct was to pig out, as usual, but she couldn't. She was in public, and she didn't want to embarrass Jack like when they had been to PF Chang's the previous month. Long story short, she barely made it to the bathroom before she tossed her cookies. Rose slowly ate her bacon, focusing on the poster on the wall across from her to steady her nerves. She felt like a little kid on Christmas morning, right before her parents woke up and it was time to open presents. Rose had just finished her bacon and started on her scrambled eggs when her doctor's nurse assistant appeared. "Hey, Rose," the assistant smiled. "Follow me, honey." With some difficulty, Rose managed to get up and follow her doctor's nurse assistant, loosely clinging to Jack's hand. She gave him a soft squeeze as they were let into a little room.

Once Rose was weighed, her doctor came in and instructed her to lay back. Rose was all too familiar with the process, seeing as she had already had a handful of ultrasounds. She squeezed Jack's hand and squealed slightly when the cold gel was rubbed on her tummy. "So, what are mommy and daddy hoping for today?" The doctor asked as she prepared the ultrasound machine. Rose looked over at Jack, a little smile on her face. "Well," she spoke. "Jack is hoping for a boy, and I want a girl. But mostly, we want a baby who's happy and healthy." The doctor nodded before placing the wand on Rose's tummy, moving it around for a little bit before settling in one spot. He examined the screen for a second before speaking.

"Well, it looks like dad is gonna be happy. You two are having a little boy!"

Once they were both finished with their food, he brought the tray back down to the cafeteria and came back just in time to see that they were ready to go into the small room. He held her hand and then realized how nervous he actually was. What happened if they found out the baby wasn't healthy? What happened if the baby suddenly had two different genitals? Would that mean they would raise it as a male? or Female? Would they end up hating Rose and him if they picked the wrong gender? Was this what normal people worried about going into finding the gender? He squeezed her hand back, but was thinking in the back of his head if it was way to late to tell her he wanted the gender to be a surprise.

He watched the gel drip on her stomach and laughed out of nerves, then realized it made him look immature, so he tried covering it up with a cough. "I want a boy, but uh, I would much rather it only have, you know, one private part and not two. I don't want them to hate us if we picked the wrong gender, ya know?" He said, the ultrasound technician looked over at him and gave him a weird look and smiled back at Rose. "Well, I think he's thought about that for a while." She said and before she looked up at the computer and pointed to the baby after revealing it's a boy. "Look, there, there is only one private part for daddy." she laughed pointing it out. Jack, on the other hand, was in complete and total aw seeing how big the baby was already.

Rose smiled proudly at the sight of her baby boy. "Holy cow, look at his head! This one's gonna be a c-section. He's got your forehead, babe." She spoke, running her fingers through Jack's hair affectionately. Rose just couldn't believe how lucky she was to have Jack and their new little boy in her life. She couldn't wait for the baby to come so they could shower him in love and affection. Rose grabbed the paper towel from the nurse assistant and cleaned her stomach off before pulling her shirt back down. She gratefully took the packet of ultrasounds and stuffed it in her purse.

"Just continue to take care of yourself the way you have been, Rose, and your baby boy will continue to progress as he has been." Dr. D typed a few more things into her little computer before saying goodbye to Jack and Rose and taking off.

Once the two were left alone, Rose turned to face the love of her life. "Well, looks like I owe you some money!"
