One step at a time

Ashby smiled as he hugged him. "I'm happy you're here." He said hugging him more and laying his head on his shoulder.

Trish watched them and smiled. She put the bottle that Ryan brought and set it in the kitchen.

"I'm happy I'm here to," Ryan smiled rubbing Ashby's back with one hand. "What are you doing in here?" He asked walking toward the living room where he could see the decorations.

"Well i was helping Mommy decorate the tree more with the new ornaments that we brought today." He said smiling. "But mommy had to check on the food she's making, so I'm doing this myself...but i got this. You can go into the kitchen to mommy. She might.need your help." He said with a smile.

Trish was in the kitchen, like Ashby said, checking the food. She softly sang with the music in the background. She didn't expect Ryan to come into the kitchen, so she stood in the kitchen dancing as the music played.

Ryan smiles and nods at Ashby. He sets him on the floor then walks over to the kitchen to see if Trish needs any help. He smiles wide when he sees her dancing around the kitchen. Ryan thinks about going behind her and dancing with her but he knows he can't dance so he stays leaned against the door frame watching.

When the song ends he claps his hands together loudly. "Bravo!" He cheers.

Trish jumped a little when she heard him clapping and saying bravo. She turned around to him and smiled. "Thanks." She said blushing as she played with her hair a little.

Ryan let out a small laugh. "That was really good," he smiled. "I didn't know you danced," he said walking more into the kitchen and closer to Trish.

"Thank you." Trish said with a smile as he walked closer to her. She moved a little closer to him as well. She looked at him as she watched him. "It's good to have you here." They had been a freshly romantic relationship for a little while now and things were amazing between them.

Ryan nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for inviting me," he said happily. "So Ashby said you might need help in here. What are you making?" He questioned.

"Just finishing up the pot roast." She said smiling. Ashby walked in with mistletoe. He quickly went behind them and climbed onto the stool. He had the mistletoe above Ryan's and hers heads. "Look mommy mistletoe." He giggled then she blushed, seeing what he had.

Ryan chuckled at Ashby and smiled. "We kind of have to now," he insisted. He lent forward, putting one hand on Trish's hip and the other on her cheek. He flashed her a reassuring smile then pressed his lips lightly against her's and pulled away.

Trish kissed him and smiled when they both pulled back. "My son is very clever." She laughed as she left her hands on his shoulders. She blushed a little before burying her head in his chest. "Ryan...this is great." She spoke softly.

Ryan tightened his arms around Trish, in a warming hug. "Yeah," he agreed nodding his head lightly. "This is amazing," he added pulling back to smile down at Trish and peck her lips again. He was glad that things had been going so well between them both and even with Ashby.

(Don't think I was ignoring you, I was just on vacation and was super busy so I didn't get to post as much as I originally wanted too.)

Trish couldn't help but smile as Ryan tightened his arms around her. She felt so safe in his arms, and to be honest, she wasn't sure when the last time it was that she felt so safe in a man's arms. When he pecked her on the lips again, she just turned a slight shade of pink before pulling back and looking up at him. She smiled at him then looked at her son. "Ashby, why don't you go make sure all the presents are under the tree." She then said. She watched as her son got overly excited, running off into the other room talking about presents and such. As she watched him leave, Trish just smiled. "Oh, I'd love to have other one of him." She commented without thinking.

Ryan nodded a bit watching Ashby leave the kitchen. He really wasn't sure what to say. He didn't want to say anything wrong but he wasn't going to just agree. "He's a great kid," Ryan settled on saying.

(Oh okay. I just wanted to let you know why I've been slow on posting.)

Trish looked at him and then realized what so just said to him. "Sorry for saying that. That was suppose to be a comment that stayed in my head." She whispered as she blushed rather red this time. She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her head in his chest. She took in his sexy scent from his cologne. She looked up at him once again and smiled.

Ryan smiled at Trish and let out a little laugh. "It's okay," he assured her nodding his head. He smiled down at her and tightened his arms around her waist. Ryan watched her closely. When she looked back up at him he smiled back at her and then pecked his lips to hers.

Trish smiled as their lips touched once more. As she kissed him, she felt her body being pushed into a counter. She giggled, pulling back. "Ash is in the other room." She laughed, feeling like a teen once again.

Ashby walked in and walked up to Ryan. He hugged him and just smiled. "Don't ever leave our family...please."

Trish almost wanted to cry, her son was so sweet.

Ryan nodded and back away a bit from Trish. He smiled when Ashby walked in as if on que. Ryan smiled widder at Ashby. He didn't want to say he'd stay forever, because he wasn't sure if he would but he nodded his head anyway. "I won't Ashby," he promised running his fingers threw his hair and held him close to him by his little shoulders

Ashby smiled wider. "Good." He said wtih a bright smile on his face. He hugged ryan once more and than walked away, letting his mommy and him have time to themselves.

Trish looked at Ryan and just laughed. "It's like he knows when the best time it is to come in and to go out." She spoke softly.
