"Hey Ven!" Haver called as he arrived home from school, dumping his backpack in the hallway as he checked around th bottom floor of the house if he could find his twin. "I need a favor wherever you are!" he added as he trotted up the stair. He presumed his brother was already home because he usually was there most of the time whereas he had hung out with a few buds after school for a smoke. He came to the other boy's room and went inside.
Haven was busy with his homework when his twin returned. He didn't bother answering. He thought Haver would know he was in his room. He looked up at Haver. "What sort of favor?" he asked softly. His pencil was behind his ear, his glasses on. He only wore his glasses to do his homework.
Haver came to lean on the desk next to his brother, crossing his arms in front of him. "I need you to pick me up tonight. Josh is picking me up but I don't have a ride home. And you need to cover for me if I'm out late. Mom and dad can't know I'm gone," he said, knowing well enough that he was going to be out late.
Haven swallowed hard. "Again?" he asked softly. He trembled ever so slightly. "How do you expect me to get out of the house to come pick you up?" He looked down. Haver always knew how to make Haven do what he asked.
"Yes again," Haver replied, rolling his eyes at him. "And what do I know. Like last time," he shrugged. "Just do it. It's not like you have anything better to do," he told him, straightening again. "I'm counting on you, bro," he added, giving him a pat on the shoulder before turning to leave.
Haven frowned. He knew he'd be there for Haver no matter what, but he also knew what his parents would think of him if he were found out. He sighed, chewing on his lip. He set his book down and went to his window to stare at the sun.
Haver changed into basketball shorts and a muscle shirt for the gym, grabbing a towel and water bottle and throwing it in his bag. As a car drove up and honked, he left the house to join his friend. They were going to work out a little bit before heading over to an other friend's house for some beer and some harsher stuff.
Haven sniffled. Mom and Dad weren't due back for a few hours and he felt so lonely. He got a bright idea to follow Haver to see what he was up to. He doubted their parents would find out that both he and his twin were gone.
After spending about an hour in the gym, Haver and Josh left and drove to the south part of town to a rather come down place, where they met with three more guys before walking into the shed. There, they passed the needle around, Haver still a lightly insecure because he was still new to this.
Haver was nervous as hell and knew this was wrong, deep inside, but he had a loose smile up, easily being able to hide his true feelings. He wanted to be part of this, he wanted to be ciol whike also being curious. As soon as the high kicked in though, all his worries disappeared and he felt like he was the happiest man in the world. At some point, everyone started leaving and Haver walked out, being new to this andstill quite high, mumbling ssomething and laughing out into the night.
Haven stared at his newly high brother, shaking his head. A few tears sprang up in his eyes and he started walking away quickly, hoping Haver wouldn't notice him.
"It's great!" Haver laughed. "Everything is wonderful. I feel like I'm flying. It's just so good . I love it," he gushed happily. He pulled his brother closer, leaning on him lightly as he looked up to the stars and let out an amazed sigh.
"Hey," Haver whined as he was pushed away. "Am I not allowed to hug my brother, the most important person in my life?" He asked, right back at his side, shoulders bumping.
