    Hello, everyone. As you all know, it’s October. That means it’s the season for scary stories and pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks…but mostly scary stories. The whole point of this contest is to inspire each of the contestants to put into words the scariest story that their minds can muster up, but with a twist. Below, my co-judge CharmedLuna and myself have a list of twenty of our favorite horror movies: ten classic horrors and ten newer-age ones. Your objective is to pick one of the movies, take a scene from that movie (not the entire film, just your favorite scene) and write a story inspired by it. That’s all there is to it, guys!

    The Rules


    1. No incest will be accepted into the contest.

    2. No slash will be accepted into the contest.

    3. Please make sure your story is at least 750 words.

    4. Please make sure your story is only inspired by the scene you choose, rather than just a re-writing of that scene. We already know what happens in the movie, let your imagination run wild!

    5. Original and Fanfic are both welcomed into the contest. You may enter with any fandom of your choice if you choose to write fanfic.

    6. Only one entry per participant will be accepted.

    7. Any rating will be permitted as well.

    You may indeed choose Psycho. And you can have your story inspired by the movie as a whole, as long as it isn't a complete retelling of the movie...In other words, make it your own. Don't follow the script for the movie is basically what I was getting at. Cute
