A Mibba Time Capsule

So a few Mibbians and I were reminiscing about the old times on Mibba (from the years we joined and onward) and of some old users we remember fondly. The idea came about a Mibba Time Capsule, where all Mibbians would write a letter to their current self and then post it on a thread in the forums and two years later, we get to see it again. I was thinking that a Mibba Magazine staffer could write a monthly periodical (or article) digging up some of these letters. The letters can be about anything really as long as they were in the guidelines and rules of Mibba of course, but still.

What do you all think of this idea?

I know we have a thread like that. You're supposed to write a letter to yourself and come back in a year. So we could probably use that thread and just do what you suggested at the end. In that way, you could actually start now as people have been using the thread for years already.

This sounds a lot like the Write a Letter to Yourself thread, but maybe we could make it more on theme? We could have a survey to fill out with stuff like leaving a link to your current favorite story and things like that. Also, I don't know how kosher this would be with the admins, but I know it's at least possible that we could give people say a month to post in the thread and then move the thread to the staff board so that regular users wouldn't be able to post anymore or even see it, ie "burying" it. Then after six months / a year / however long we could move it back to a public board so people could see their posts again. That way, unlike the Write a Letter to Yourself thread, everyone would write their letter and re-visit their letter at the same times, and they'd actually be unable to re-read their letter until the time limit was up.
