1D Post Apocalyptic Group Write

I've got my characters made up! I can change any of this based on what group we decide they should each be in.

Clara Monroe was always somewhat shy and quiet before the apocalypse, and when everything went to shit, she showed those characteristics even more. She is very quiet for the most part and doesn't say much unless she thinks it's important. When she does talk, she's very kind, but her shyness tends to lead to people thinking she's rude upon first meeting her. She tries to help out as best she can, but she's not strong or a fighter type. Her only real skill is with medicine, and even that is sub par. She tries to learn more about medicine every chance she gets because she knows it's the only real help she can give. She's good with dealing with cuts and infection, but not much else for the time being.

Zayn Malik is and always has been a fighter. Before the apocalypse, he played soccer (or football depending on where they're from) and he's always been athletic. He's very physically strong, but he isn't always the best when it comes to thinking up plans and the brainier side of things. He knows that's his biggest downfall, and he gets secretly embarrassed by it. His personality is more reserved around girls, but around the guys he likes to joke around. He doesn't want to get too attached to anyone out of fear of losing them, and it definitely shows.

I think that's a good starting point Marissa :)

I'm on my cellphone doing this so I won't be able to do much until I get home. But how far into the apocalypse did we want to be? I'm thinking six months or a year max.

Okay so nine months in?
We should decide if we want this to be in the UK or US. I think the English country side would be interesting.

That would be cool! Like away from all the cities and stuff?

Yeah maybe we can start it by them now being forced to leave the cities and that's where the story starts. You know like they have been in the cities and now that they are getting overrun, running out of supplies, they have to leave. Sounds like a good starting point to me.

Okay so nine months in, they are leaving the city because food is scarce and it's becoming overrun with zombies.
And this will be the starting point.

Hey, what should we refer to the zombies as? Cause there are always other names for them like 'walkers', 'biters', 'geeks', and 'grey ones'.

How are we going to do the whole group meet up thing? Unless I could have my OC in her own little group, who all die off except for her because she's a main character.

I like 'biters' it's not too Walking Dead.

And nine months in... like it starts off with nine months into the apocalypse?

Okay, so yes when we say nine months we mean nine months has passed since the apocalypse has begun.
And I like biters as well, not to say we can't call them 'zombies' too, but I think it's more fun with a different name sometimes.

As for the groups meeting up, we need to know how many characters we're starting with first and then we can break them into groups before they meet, you know what I mean?

Like I have Rose and Zoey and Harry under my belt.
Marissa has Clara and Zayn
You have Liam and your OC

Then we still have Niall and Louis.

So that's nine people total, if that's all it's going to be then we can each have one group before they all meet up together.
Is this making sense?

I think I'll have my character lose her humanity for a while, and Liam brings her back.
Would it totally be mary-sueish if I made her a bit of a badass? And like, into paintball, and video games? I'm currently writing up her up.

And yes, it makes sense. xD

I think two groups would be good! Or three groups and one of them would only have like two people or something? Whatever you guys want!
And I was thinking that age for the boys too!

I think three groups would be best, that way we can each establish our characters and then in the second round of chapters it's just one group with everyone. How does that sound to you guys?

Okay, so age range 19-22. Marissa how old is Clara and how old do you want Zayn to be so I can add it on the character profiles.

I would like Gray (my character) to be in the 2 man group! Because I was thinking that she would make a friend in one of her classes for her Video Game Design program thing, and he could be her best friend. And it'll just be them 'til they run into Liam, maybe? And she'll lose her humanity when her friend gets bit, and she watches him 'til he turns. And... she kills him.

I'm stuck between two face claims, one and two.
Her name is Grace Tomlinson and she'll be.. 20 years old.

I like that idea, actually. Mine is going to be something like that, but different.

I like the first one, she's super pretty. Not that the second one isn't, but yeah haha.

Okay, so just so you know what my plans are for my two characters in the beginning chapters.

Rose and Zoey are sisters and have been among three groups prior to the start of the story. Rose, who is so hurt and scared of all that she's been through has become detached and barely has a will to live, but Zoey is clinging to life. They are in the beginning going to be by themselves until they come across Harry, who saves them.

That's how I was planning on starting my intro chapter, what do you think? I was also thinking about Niall being involved somehow if neither one of you need him.

For my group I wanted to have Harry, Rose, Zoey, and Niall.
If that's okay with you guys.

But otherwise we haven't really decided groups, but what I listed above is my ideal group for my first chapter.
