The Right Partner

Bucky smiled as he took Clara's hand, instinctively lacing their fingers together. This is what he wanted in life. He didn't care if they were in Clara's small flat, or travelling across time and space with The Doctor. So long as she was there with him, he'd be a happy man. It was going to take a while for him to settle, to find his feet and stop relying on her so much, but he was determined to do it. He was determined to start a life together. "I wish I was joking," He breathed out with a short laugh, his free hand moving to rub his back. "But my back's starting to hurt like the old man I am..."

"Your age is starting to show, Sarge." Clara said, a slight grin tugging at the corners of her lips. She was glad that they were trying to get past everything. When the truth all sort of came out, she wasn't sure how things were going to be, if they were even still going to be, with Bucky. It was clear now that they were both willing to work things out and see past all of it. They still had a great deal to talk about, but for now, this was good enough for her.
