"Most men here have an eye on her." He told Blake reassuringly. "You are right though, they are smart enough to know that they need to keep it to themselves." Pete shoved his hands into pockets and began to walk back to the house with Blake. "She is a pretty thing to look at, especially after being on the trail for so long."

Blake's eyes narrowed just a little at Pete, "What are you getting at?" He asked, wondering if the cowboy had a hidden agenda, "Any woman can be pretty to look at when coming off a trail... so why the focus on Daisy?" He shook his head, "You tryin' to get me in trouble?"

Pete lifted his hands up in surrender before shaking his head and lightly laughing. "No No No. Not trying to get anyone in trouble. Just making an observation that is all." He said before shoving his hands back into his pocket. "I gonna head off to the sack." He said before making his way to his bed.

Blake watched Pete walk off. He sighed a little, hoping Pete didn't take what he said the wrong way... but he didn't want the other hands thinking they could set him up... because he knew he'd get kicked out if he was caught seducing Daisy.

The next day came around like the first. Breakfast was set out for the hands and Daisy and her mother were no where to be found at first. Though a little later in the morning, once all of the hands were working, Daisy made her way out to find something to do for a little bit.

Sam had Midnight on a halter and lead rope. The mustang was standing as far back as he possibly could, neck extended. Still, he walked with Sam, curious as to what the human was doing. Sam figured most of the hands would just walk the horse from stable to pen and back... so he was trying something new.

As Daisy headed around the land, she did see Sam and the horse walking around. "Good morning Blake." She told him as she walked up to the two of them. Midnight looked at Daisy before ignoring her. He had gotten used to Daisy enough that he wasn't paranoid about what she would do. Though he still did not exactly trust her. Daisy smiled a little before slowly walking up to the horse and petting his neck.

Blake smiled at her, "Good morning," He replied softly, watching her and the horse closely, "How has your day been so far?" He grinned at her, "Anything interesting happen?" As he spoke he walked a little closer with each word, making sure the horse couldn't back away.

"Nothing too interesting." Daisy told him as she moved the horse's head into her hands lightly and looked up at the large creature with a smile. Midnight just stared at her before pressing his nose to her cheek and then lightly nudging her away with his head on her chest, not liking how he was holding her. Daisy moved one hand and moved to the side of Midnight, thinking he would be more comfortable with that. "How about you?"

"Well," He drawled, "Your horse here decided to kick me." He reached down with his free hand and rubbed his left thigh, still feeling the ache, "Other than that it's been about the same as yesterday." He got about even with Daisy, still looking at her but focused on the horse. He didn't attempt to touch Midnight, but he did expect the horse to deal with his presence.

"Well he is a tough one to crack but I think that you will be the one to do it." Daisy said with a light smile before glancing up at Midnight. "At least you understand that you need to wait for him to get used to you. Midnight did not like me right away either but he likes me enough now. Well...he tolerates me now." She said with a light laugh

"I think he'd prefer you on the end of this lead opposed to me." Blake said as he stood next to her, "Though I'm glad you're here. Midnight's a bit more relaxed now."

"Is he?" Daisy asked as she looked up at the large creature. Sometimes she was unsure if Midnight enjoyed her presence or not. "I am happy to hear that he is. I rather like Midnight so I would hope that he feels the same towards me." She then turned to Blake, looking up at him curiously. "So why don't you tell me a bit about yourself?"

Blake got the question a lot, was used to answering it with lies and false statements, but for some reason he didn't want to lie to Daisy. Still, he was in the routine of evading so he responded with, "I'm a cowboy used to life on the trail. Nothing more, nothing less."

Daisy smiled a little before giving him a small nod. "Well that must be exciting enough." She told him. While she was sure that there was something more-after all, all of the other boys had something to say- she wasn't going to push him to tell her his story.

Blake grinned and knew that his answer didn't satisfy her, but she definitely had manners, "What about you? What's it like being Miss Daisy?" As he spoke he kept a good grip on the horse. Midnight didn't know what to think of this. His eyes were wide and looking around. He was used to working in a pen... so why was he out of a pen and just on a rope? Midnight gave the lead a testing tug, noticed the human grip on the end was steady, and gave a very unhappy huff.

Daisy smiled a little before giving him a slight shrug. "Oh I just do what most ladies do." She told him as she headed back to the horse and began to pet him. Midnight seemed a bit unhappy. "Nothing too special I can assure you."

Blake laughed, smile wide as he studied her, "You give as good as you get, don't'cha?" He said, "Alright, alright. You keep your secrets, I'll keep mine." He began walking, just idly leading the horse, teaching the animal to follow, occasionally giving Midnight some carrot pieces.

Daisy knew better than to tell more than she was given. Besides perhaps this would get the cowboy to tell her a bit more about himself. "Are you going to try and saddle him soon?" She asked him curiously before looking uo at the horse.

"Depends on his response," He said softly as he walked with her and the horse, "He's trying to figure out what my game is right now. Why am I just walking around? Why haven't I tried putting him in a pen or riding him yet? So he licks his lips, contemplates what the hell I'm doing, and all the while he's walking, moving, learning to follow where he's lead." He shared a smile with Daisy, "So while he's worried about what I'm going to do next, he's actually learning."
