Matt smiled at her. "I may not have been a teacher for as long as some of your other teachers, but trust me," he said as he stood up. "I know what I'm doing, okay?" He'd never had a student question him before, and it was really kind of awkward. "Let's make a deal. Give me a month, and if you still don't like my class, I'll give you a transfer slip."

Prue shook her head. "That's a month of work and learning I could be doing in a class that will be useful to me," she argued. She ran her fingers through her hair and handed him his syllabus back. "Look I get it you think you know best but at the end of the day I know what's good for me and you don't," she stated confidently. "So either you give me a transfer slip tomorrow after class or I can go to the front office and plead my case and spoiler alert I'm pretty sure they'll be happy to do it." She crossed her arms over her chest, waiting for her teacher's reply. Prue was definitely glad her next class was literally next door so there was really no way she could be late to it.

Matt shrugged. "Whatever you want, princess," he said, tearing the syllabus up and then sitting back in his seat, continuing to do his paperwork.

Prue scoffed. "If you think I'm a princess you definitely should have been the gym teacher instead you obviously aren't that smart," she snapped. She stormed out of the classroom, completely and utterly pissed off. That word for Prue was one she despised especially since Caine called her it everytime he beat her. She walked into her next class, making it into a seat before the tardy bell rang, taking a few deep breaths and pretending like her snapping at Mr. Sanders didn't happen.

Matt rolled his eyes and shook his head. Kids' comments didn't bother him anymore. He was immune to them, because in reality, they meant nothing. They meant nothing to him. She could be mad all she wanted, even though he didn't do anything to her. He just couldn't wait for the moment when she came crawling back because she realized the other teachers weren't nearly as good as he was.

Prue sat in her next class, taking notes and highlighting the few things on it that she had some notes for. Thankfully in this English class it was only two things. For most of the class she had been calm and relaxed but as soon as it ended and she was told to go to the office she was on edge. It was the first time she had ever been called up and she felt her heart begin to race as she fought back the urge to cry when she sat her mom and Caine sitting there waiting for her. Apparently there was a family emergency and she needed to go home. Prue knew better though. Her mom or Caine probably found out she had been applying for jobs and she was going to be beaten for it. The blonde never understood why they didn't want her to work but she knew she had to risk it to save up money and escape them.

Matt struggled a bit throughout the first day, just wanting to get home so he could meet up with his agent and hand in the paperwork. He walked out to his car and got in, driving to his apartment.

Just as she predicted Prue's mom found out about her applying for jobs and had Caine throw punches at her. The older man even used his belt a couple times on her back. The blonde had just managed to get out of the small apartment they lived in and went for a jog around the complex. She knew even though she had no make up on, no one would say anything because all of the neighbors would rather Prue get Caine's wrath than them. Caine was definitely mean and intimidating when he wanted to be and that's all the teen really knew of him. She sighed softly as she felt her back start to throb, deciding to sit on the sidewalk for a little bit and tried to stretch to help the tension.

Matt parked in front of his place and got out, grabbing his files before he headed to his door. He stopped when he saw Prudence, raising an eyebrow. He walked over and sighed softly. "I wanted to apologize, for calling you dumb," he said. "I'm not a mean person. I've just been stressed lately."

Prue looked up at Mr. Sanders from where she was sitting and shrugged. "I've heard worse," she mumbled. "Besides if anyone should apologize its me. I shouldn't have snapped at you." She stood up, wiping off the debris that had accumluated on her jogging pants and chewed on her bottom lip. A part of her hoped her blonde hair was long enough to cover her black eye and the bruises on her cheeks because otherwise she may have problems with Mr. Sanders. She gave him a forced smile and started walking away, knowing just from the look she saw on his face he was about to ask about the bruises.

"Prud- ah, Prue, wait," Matt said, following her. "Are you okay?"

Prue knew she could keep walking and ignore her teacher but she stopped. Her blue eyes met his hazel ones and she nodded, giving him the biggest smile she could muster and hoped it looked real. "I was just practicing my make up skills," she lied. "I guess the bruises look more realistic than I thought." That was of course her most used lie when people ever saw the bruises. If they didn't believe that then she usually just said something that would insult them so they'd be so pissed off they forgot they were talking to someone that had been beaten and bruised for the past five years.

"Oh," Matt mumbled. "Alright." He thought that was a bit peculiar, but it was none of his business, so he would just have to leave it alone. Maybe she was into makeup or something. Who knows. "Well, here," he said, handing her a new syllabus. "I updated it. You might think my class is a joke, and that's fine. But I think you should give me a chance."

Prue looked at the syllabus and her eyes widened. He had practically changed the entire thing. A frown formed on her lips as she realized what would probably happen now. "Why," she asked. "Do you want me to get my ass kicked by the jocks and their slut girlfriends?" She handed him back the syllabus and sighed. "Look you may be the best teacher in the world but I still expect that slip tomorrow because I have my reasons for wanting to be taught by certain teachers." That main reason being they wouldn't be nosy and ask questions if she came to school with make up caked on her face.

Matt pulled the slip out of his file and handed it to her. "Already done," he said. "I don't like having people in my class who would rather be somewhere else. It's very unfortunate, you would have had a great time in my class. Good luck." He walked to his apartment and opened the door, slipping inside.

"Thanks for fucking up things at the only place I felt safe ya fucking dick," Prue spat. She knew she'd regret saying that later if he had actually heard her. When she started walking away and didn't hear a response she figured he hadn't heard her. She shoved the slip into her pocket and walked into the apartment she lived in. Her blue eyes met Caine's green ones, tensing when he pinned her to a nearby wall before she felt his fist collide with the unbruised side of her face.

Matt rolled his eyes as he walked into the apartment. He wasn't going to let some moody hormonal teenager get to him. He wasn't like that. And she was just being a bitch to try and get his attention. It had happened before, but he never let it bother him. He was too mature for that.

Prue did her best to not let out any cries of pain as Caine beat her body black and blue. She knew if she did make any noises or cried that it would only fuel the older man's fire to continue. When he finished, he pulled the blonde up by her hair and tossed her onto her bedroom floor. Prue crawled onto her bed, lifting up her shirt to check the damage he had caused. It looked like she had a body suit with disgusting hues of black, red, purple and blues.

Matt sat down on the couch and decided to rest for a couple minutes, groaning softly.

The next morning Prue had been forced to cake make up onto her face and arms to hide all the bruising she had gotten the night before. She handed the women at the front desk the transfer slip, frowning when they told her every other class was full. She politely thanked them for her time and walked into Mr. Sanders' class, glaring at him before she sat down in the back. The blonde wasn't happy she was stuck with him. She would rather have a teacher she liked and not some arrogant prick who if given the chance would probably beat her just as badly as Caine did.
