Love and Vengeance

I nodded a little. "Well, maybe she'll find a place to get her silence and enjoy it."

He nodded al ittle,"Yeah maybe she will," he said to her softly as he licked his lips. "She derserves a patient man, she isn't easy to live with. She is kind of... she is kind of a bitch sometimes," he told her laughing al ittle.

I laughed a bit. "Well she is your sister. No doubt you've seen a part of her not so like the future queen of whatever country you had an alliance with. You had a very stressful lifestyle, I'm sure. Everyone is entitled to their share of being a bitch." I said simply.

He nodded a little, "Yeah, I know but she is quite... she likes her space which she never had hopefully she will find someone who can respect that," he told her.

I smiled a little. "Well she gets some alone time here... As long as she steers clear of Robert." I said with a shrug. "I thought you'd want to run away screaming after seeing how Robert is. But I like the company of you and your sister."

He laughed,"Well he isn't so bad, just protective," he shrugged a little.

"And vulgar, rude, loud, and obnoxious and you'll only have just scratched the surface. He's over protective and needs to learn to give me space. But he's all I have. He cares, I can say that at least."

He nodded,"Everything a brother should be," he told her lightly.

"I can do without the rudeness and vulgarity." I snorted. "You aren't any of those things." I pointed out. "And I think you're a great brother to Constance."

"At least someone does," he laughed a little as he looked at her.

I smiled a little. "Why? Don't you think you're a good brother to her?"

"I do, but others don't. I can't protect her, she protected me... she killed those gaurds.. I couldn't do it," he told her.

I looked at him for a second, before motioning him to sit. I had some questions, I was a bit confused. "Ryley... Were you trained to lead armies as a child?" I asked curiously. "Even if you weren't, killing isn't an easy thing. Maybe its not something you'll ever be able to do, and thats completely fine."

He nodded,"I was, taught where to kill a man, and where every man is weakest. It was my duty, but I didn't want to kill people, I don't want to," he said to her, "

"Constance killed a man, without a second though, she saved my life, and I couldn't even save myself," he told her.

I sighed a little. "It's alright. It doesn't make you weak, it makes you compassionate. In a world where there's so much blood and violence, someone like you is refreshing." I said, taking his arm, since he looked so upset with himself.

"It isnt something you're meant to do, and thats fine. You'll be able to do other things. Is being able to kill a person really a bragging point?"

He shook his head,"Of course not, but it's what men are supposed to be able to do right?" he said to her, "Protect the women and children and lead, thats what men are meant to do right?"

I shrugged. "Well... Would you rather have a damsel in distress for a sister? Or a wife? Its alright to not fit the mold thats made for what you're supposed to be. Wouldn't you be more comfortable knowing your sister can take care of herself?"

He nodded a little,"Of course, she has always been capable," he told her lightly as he sighed. "When you're raised to a certain, and you don't measure up it's hard to come to terms with it."

I shook my head. "Then stop coming to terms. Stop comparing yourself. Be you, you don't have to prove anything to anyone. You can better yourself, but not when you end up berating yourself in the process." I said seriously.

He nodded a little,"I need to get my leg better first, before I can do anything of use," he said to her.
