Zacky found Eve in front of the castle soon after she passed out and took her home, everyone who managed to catch a glance at the wounded queen obviously upset and disturbed by the image.
Rumors quickly began to spread that the king had tried to have his guards beat his queen to death and his was crazier than his own father. The rumor reached its way distorted back to the caste and to the ears of the girl the king has slept with. She hurried to the entrance of his chambers and knocked on the door, eager to hear he had the queen killed for her from his own lips.
"There are rumors swarming all over the castle that you had your guards beat the queen to death when you had her thrown out," she replied. "All of her ladies are already packing all their own belongings in fear you'll murder them next."
Matt shook his head. "This needs to stop, once and for all," he hissed. He was tired of rumors. They were ruining his life. He left the room and went downstairs, firing all the guards who had hurt Evelyn.
Genoa and Lacey walked into the castle being lead by guards since they knew where the queen was. They were lead straight to the king and told to talk."First we want to know you didnt want those guards to hurt Eve," Lacey spoke. "Then we'll tell you where she is."
Matt sighed. "I didn't want them to hurt her," he said. "I didn't know they would do that. I just wanted her out of the castle. I couldn't stand to look at her in that moment. I sent all of those guards back home, they won't be back here."
Lacey waited in the nursery, watching Brielle as Gena drove Matt to the hospital Eve was at. When they got the brunette's hospital room she was awake and asking Zacky when she could leave Bat Country because she feared Matt's guards would attempt to finish the job when they found out she hadn't died.
Matt stepped into the room and cleared his throat. "Um, Zack, could I have a minute alone, please?" he asked. He knew what the answer was when he saw the look on Evelyn's friend's face, and he sighed softly. "I'm just here to talk, I swear."
"They didn't just beat me," Eve exclaimed. "They were trying to kill me!" She wiped away the tears that had fallen down her face and sniffled. "I fear for my life and Brielle's if either of us stay in Bat Country any longer with you."
