RoedanyaA low, continuous rumbling like thunder that started out as nothing and slowly began to crescendo echoed around the valleys that Roedanya currently inhabited. It was a sparse, unforgiving land, but it was also land unclaimed, and therefore the sort of land that the Terian could call home -in a fashion. The rumbling was a mystery to the lone Terian, who had never heard anything of the like. It kept growing and growing, louder and louder, and she sat listening for some time before she ever saw anything.
What she saw was even more curious than the rumbling, honestly. It started out as a speck and grew in size, and soon she could see that it was silver. Next, she noticed it was made of some strange reflective material, and lastly, she noticed that its direction seemed to actually be towards her. Roedanya quickly moved off a ways, watching with rapt attention as the strange thing finally made it to the ground. It left a hole in the earth big enough for a small tribe of Terians to live in -she winced at that- but seemed to be more or less intact some distance away.
Then a most curious thing happened. She had thought the silver thing might have been some sort of living creature, but it stayed still, and from it, something else emerged that she couldn't quite see very well. Glancing around quickly, Roedanya soon found some large patches of grass and brush, and flattened herself amongst the plants, creeping forward until she was close enough that her only slightly obstructed view was at least close and clear.
PharoninPharonin honestly wasn't exactly sure why he had been asked to attend the meeting. Usually, these things were restricted to the elders and their chief. Nothing about him had suddenly changed over the course of the night, and he couldn't imagine the meeting changing him either. Yet, there was no apparent reason for his attendance, and his suggestions hardly seemed helpful to the others.
Most of the elders wanted to leave the mysterious fire alone unless it threatened them. A few others thought it should be investigated, and a bare handful suggested seeking it out and destroying it. Pharonin hadn't really liked any of the options, so when his opinion had been asked, he'd suggested maybe finding it and harnessing its power for the good of their people. The suggestion hadn't been well-received.
Thus, the Fyrian felt that more than anything, time had been wasted by including him in the meeting. So he felt his general bad mood was warranted as he was finally released from the torture and exited the room he'd been holed up in with a bunch of cranky elders.
"You should talk some sense into your father," he informed Arsen as he found her waiting nearby. "My being included in any sort of meeting seems to be a giant waste of time, especially as none of the elders particularly like me -or my ideas."
