Closing the door behind her, she checked to make sure that she had the house keys. "So, what's been going on with you?" She asked while tucking her her hands into her pockets. "I've been missing from the action the past couple of days."

"That doesn't matter. Just because the bruises aren't visible doesn't mean that they aren't there, Eden." He retorted then sat down beside her on the couch. It angered him to know that her father had even dared to raise his hand against his own daughter. "You're staying here for the night, right? You're not going home?" Cliff wanted to make sure that she would fall asleep in his house as opposite to her own.

"Well Trisha and I broke up." Jaxon said, looking over at her. He knew she of all people would be happy about that because Chandra never liked Trisha to begin with. "Other than that, nothing else has been going on really."

"Yeah, I'm staying....unless your slutty girlfriend shows up then I'll probably leave." Eden said. She got up when she heard the microwave beep.

Chandra did a double take over at Jaxon, unable to believe what she had just heard. For the past few months, she had kept telling Jaxon that Trisha wasn't the right person for him, but he didn't believe her. "I wish I could say that I'm sorry to hear that." She honestly replied with a sheepish grin.

Giving a sigh, Cliff waited for her return back from the kitchen. "She's not my girlfriend, first off. Second off, I would never leave you, especially when you need me." Meeting her halfway towards the couch, he grabbed the popcorn bag from her hands.

"You're not though. I was waiting for a 'I told you so' answer." Jaxon chuckled. He sighed, "she cheated on me but it's whatever." he shrugged, walking down the dirt path towards the park that was close by Chandra's. "Whatever happened to that guy you were talking too?" he asked, looking over at his best friend.

Eden didn't say anything, just sat down with him. She grabbed some popcorn as the movie started and leaned back into the couch. Halfway through the movie, Cliff's phone started ringing. Eden looked over, seeing Brittany's name flashing, "it's her." she said, turning her attention back to the movie. She took the bowl of popcorn and sat it on her lap and continued eating one piece at a steady pace.

"Oh, okay. I told you so, too." She teased but moved over closer to him, nudging him to show she was joking. Letting out a sigh, she watched her breath dissipate into the air. "It sucks. She obviously didn't deserve you if she cheated on you, Jax." Chandra turned her gaze down to the ground then gave a light shrug. "I don't know.. We just didn't click, I guess."

Cliff could tell that Eden was freezing him out. She only did it when she was extremely upset with him, and it didn't happen very often. "And I'm not picking it up." He added onto her statement while hitting the ignore button to the phone call. Reaching over for the piece of popcorn, he felt his phone going off again. This time, he shut off his phone. Hopefully, she would get the message this time. "I'm here for you, Eden, and you know that." He said, glancing over at her.

Jaxon frowned, "I didn't like him anyways. He looked like a tool." He said, being honest. "I think we should just stay single." He chuckled.

"I'm glad." Eden smiled and leaned against him. She put her head on his shoulder and curled up next to him. She let out a yawn and started running her fingers over his arm before falling asleep.

Chandra could tell that Jaxon didn't like him from the first meeting. "He wasn't a tool.. Okay, maybe he was a little bit of a tool." She admitted with a sigh, knowing it was the truth. "I suppose so. Drama is overrated anyway." She nodded in agreement.

Wrapping his arm around her shoulders, he brought her closer to his side. Cliff glanced down at Eden a few moments later to see that she had completely fallen asleep. Turning slightly, he grabbed the blanket off of the back of the couch and spread it out over her body.

Jaxon nodded, "I know. That's why I don't trust any females...except for you, of course." he smiled down at her. "Where are we even going?" he asked a moment later. They had been walking for what seemed like forever but he had no idea where they were going exactly.

Eden stayed asleep for a little while before waking up. She almost forgot where she was until she remembered she was at Cliff's house. She ran a hand through her hair as she sat up, looking around. She didn't see him and pulled out her phone to look at the time. It was almost one in the morning. She got off the couch and went to use the bathroom before going to Cliff's room. She made her way over to his bed and pulled back the covers and got in, snuggling up beside him.

"Oh, I don't know. I've just been wandering." She admitting, continuing to walk down the street. It was not long before the liquor store came into view. Chandra was surprised that she had unknowingly led them towards it. Even if she tried to ignore it, it did not change the fact that she had led them here.

Cliff slowly moved away from her and turned off the movie. Glancing over his shoulder, he saw that she was still fast asleep. He gave a small smile then moved his way upstairs to take a shower then fell asleep. A few hours later, he felt movement on his bed and cracked his eyes open to see Eden. Cliff turned to face her, wrapping his arms around her smaller frame. She fit quite well into his arms as he quickly slipped back into a sleep.

Once the liquor store came into view Jaxon grinned. "I knew it!" he said, poking her playfully. "Do you want me to go in and buy us something? Seeing as you're not twenty one yet and shouldn't even be drinking but at least you do it at home." he teased. He stopped, looking down at his best friend and waiting for her to answer him or smack him for teasing her about her age.

Eden woke up once more during the night and looked at the time. It wasn't really night anymore, it was about six thirty in the morning. She looked over at Cliff; smiling at how cute he looked when he slept. She got out of his bed and went to the bathroom that was right across from his room. She left the door ajar and turned on the light, looking at herself in the mirror. She sighed, pulling her shirt up and looking at the huge bruise on her side from where her father had kicked her the other night. She ran a hand over it and sighed, feeling tears come to her eyes.

Chandra cleared her throat, taking a step backwards. "I.. I was serious before, Jax. I didn't mean to come here..." She trailed off with her eyebrows slightly furrowing, not knowing why she was here. Although, she had to cover up her decision. "B-But! Who doesn't love a good bottle of whiskey, right?" Reaching over, she gave him a nice push towards the liquor store.

Moving his hands, Cliff awoke to see that Eden was missing from his arms. He glanced over at the time with a groan to see that it was a little past six thirty. Sitting up in the bed, he wondered where she had gone, and he saw a small light coming from the bathroom. "Eden?" He called out while moving across the hallway, seeing the door slightly ajar. Cliff saw the bruises all over her sides, automatically frowning. It must have been her father who had done that. "Eden.. What.. Why didn't you go to the police?" He asked while moving into the bathroom. It was too late since he had already seen all of it.

Jaxon smirked as he chuckled. "I agree. I'll be right back." he said, before going into the liquor store. He got a bottle of whiskey, well two, and then a couple of other things before going up to the counter to pay. Once he had paid for the alcohol, he walked back out and looked at her. "I got our goodies for the night. Want to go back to your place or do you need to go get anything else?" he asked, holding the bag in one hand.

Eden let her shirt fall before looking over at Cliff, shrugging. "Why bother? They wouldn't believe me anyways." she said, before walking out of the bathroom and back to his room. She sat down on the bed as he came back in. "It's not really a big deal, I mean...I've gotten used to it." she said, looking down at the floor and tucking a piece of dirty blonde hair behind her ear. "You won't tell, will you?" she asked, looking up at her best friend as she tried not to cry.

While Jaxon moved towards the store, Chandra let out a shaky breath and was unsure of how to react to the situation. She was trying to quit the alcohol like cold turkey, but this would completely send her over the edge. It was impossible to evade at least having a small shot of the whiskey without seeming suspicious though. "Yeah, let's head back to my place. There's nothing else that I needed other than that, uh, bottle right there." She reassured him with a small smile.

Cliff frowned at Eden's excuse for not going to the police. "They would believe you, and your body is evidence of that, Eden. The police wouldn't just write you off as some angsty teenager." Moving over to let her pass through back into his room, he followed a few inches behind her. He turned to softly close the door behind him, hoping that his parents wouldn't overhear. "It is a big deal. Your father is hurting you, and it's not just physically." Cliff was completely against her merely going back home to her father just to have fresh bruises all over her body. Clenching his jaw, he found it difficult to not say anything, but Eden needed him right now; getting on her bad side was not the best idea. "..I won't tell anyone, but you need to tell police.. when you're ready."
