The car came to a stop in a dirt patch, littered with weeds, dead grass, and the remnants of an old wooden fence. The current parking spot had probably once been a beautiful backyard, but you wouldn't believe it by looking at it now. Three teens stepped out of the car, staring at the abandoned house before them.
Dylan grinned at the sight before them. His friend, Andy, had said it would be perfect place for a party and he had been right. Miles out of town, there wouldn't be anyone to put and end to their fun tonight. Not nosy neighbors or pesky cops or stupid kids that thought they could roll with the adults. Well, Dylan considered himself an adult anyway. He was 18 and off to college soon, already planning where he was going to live when he made it into the big leagues of baseball. In fact, graduation coming up was exactly why Andy had suggested they throw a party. To invite the next class of seniors, the graduating class of seniors, and anyone who had already graduated, like Andy himself and his girlfriend Amanda who had graduated last year. "Dude, this is perfect!" He laughed, heading up the front porch to go check out the inside. He had to admit that the place was creepy, but that'd change when the music started pumping and they got some lights up in the place. They had come early for this reason, to get the place set up for the party. Another car would be arriving soon with more people to help before the crowd showed up.
Amanda's face had already fallen into a frown the moment the house came into view from the car. Now that they were there though, her frown had turned into a full blown grimace. The place was a dump, why on earth did her boyfriend have to suggest such a place for a party? It probably wasn't even safe to have people in, it looked like it could come tumbling down at any minute. She watched the boys' faces, admiration in one and smugness in the other and she was once again reminded why she wanted to break up with Andy. Frankly, she was pretty pissed about even being here and was scheming of ways to get him back for dragging her out to this shit hole. She watched as Dylan went inside and she instantly whirled on Andy, who was grabbing some stuff out of the car. "This was your fantastic party idea? What a load of crap!" She seethed. He rolled his eyes at her and she felt herself growing angrier by the second. "You're overreacting babe, it's gonna be great once we get it set up," he said. She turned on her heels. "Whatever. We'll see if I come home with you tonight," she said, stomping towards the house. Ally was coming tonight and Amanda could just get a ride back to the dorms with her. No way she'd want to stay either after seeing the state this house was in.
