Fallen Too Far

Skylar sighed fixing her shirt as she stepped from the car. "Why are we here?" She groaned, turning to look at her stepmother. "I can just stay with Amy or Karev." She complained, she really didn't want to face her brother, the last time she seen him they left on bad terms. He wasn't to enthused about her father marrying his mother. Though she wasn't all for the marriage either, since she was stuck with the woman. He only had to deal with her father at family gathering, but he managed to keep from attending them. Rolling her eyes she ignored the thoughts clouding her head, before moving to the trunk of the car and helping her step mother unload her suit case.

Zack walked out of the house and arched a brow at his mother and the conversation she was having with his stepsister. He hadn't seen her in a long time and boy did she look different. She looked a lot more beautiful than he remembered and if he was honest he barely recognized her except for the voice. "Hey, mom," he said as he walked up to the two of them.

Skylar nibbled on her lip noticing Zacky, turning she busy herself with getting her things. She didn't even want to deal with talking to him. She knew she'd more than likely offend her step mother. Grabbing her last bag from trunk she closed it, exposing herself to Zacky.

Zacky took a deep breath in when he noticed how beautiful Skyler was from the front. He shook it off in his head and walked over to his mother, smiling at her lightly as he gave her a soft hug. "It's good to see you, Mom," he told her. "But I've got a busy day ahead of me and I'm sure Skyler wants to settle in so I'll see you for dinner next week," he said as he kissed her on the cheek and watched as she told him she'd see him and got into her car to leave.

Sky smiled giving her step mother a quick hug, before grabbing what she could and hauled it to the house. All the while thinking what an ass Zack was for not bothering to help. Rolling her eyes she moved to the house, placing her bags just inside the door, before moving to grab the rest.

Zack had already grabbed the rest of the bags before Sky could grab them, carrying them inside the house. He picked up the bags that were at the door and took all of her bags up to her room, waiting for her to come up there with him so he could set some ground rules for her to follow.

Sky groaned noticing Zack pass her with the rest of her bag. Rolling her eyes she pulled her phone out, quickly text her boyfriend. Sighing she decided it was best to face her step brother now. Moving into the house she noticed he'd grabbed her other bags. Shrugging she headed up the stairs. "At least he's not useless." She muttered to herself.

Zack heard what Skyler said since he had really good ears ever since he was a kid. He was surprised he wasn't deaf because of all of the concerts. "I heard that, Skylar," he called out to her, watching as she walked into the room. The way she moved her hips and the way her hair shined in the light made him swallow hard as he tried to keep back his urges.

Skylar rolled her eyes, before looking around the room. "So," she said to him not caring if he heard or not. Looking back at her brother she raised a brow. "Need something?" She question, noticing he was just standing there. She'd really like it if he left so she could be alone, a smile as she felt a vibration emit from her pocket, quickly fishing it out.

Zacky reached over and snatched her phone out of her hand, placing it in his pocket. "Since my Mom and your dad couldn't handle you on their own, I'm going to handle you. No phone since you had a party the last time they went away," Zack told her with a shrug of his shoulders. "Find something else to do. Maybe I can teach you how to play the guitar," he smiled. The truth was, he didn't want her to be on her phone so he could get closer to her. He felt like he should since he never tried.

Skylar gasped at him, "well starters fucker, I pay for my phone." She told him. "And secondly really that's what they told you." She scoffed. "I didn't have a party, I had a few friends over that they approved of but because one of their boyfriends showed up, dad thought I was trying to have a party." She rolled her eyes. "And no thanks on the guitar lesson, I'd rather die." She glared at him. "I'd like my phone back, and some privacy." She informed him.

Zack rolled his eyes at her and threw her phone on the bed, snorting quietly. "Have fun being home alone all the time. Because with that attititude, I don't think anyone would want to be around your snotty ass," Zack spat. "Mainly the reason I avoided coming to any family functions by lying. So I didn't have to see your face," he continued before turning and walking out the door. He grabbed his keys after he got downstairs and walked out the front door, slamming it behind himself.

Skylar glared at the door he'd just stormed through. She had to admit his words hurt her, cut her deep. Though she didn't understand why. Zacky was a random stranger. She knew she was only mad at him for not caring sooner. How would he feel if one of his idols ignored him. She knew of Zacky and Avenged Sevenfold before her father married. So the shock it was to find out her new brother in law was a guy she'd been infatuated with for years, was a huge shock. Not to mention it felt wrong to have the hits over ones brother.

Zacky came back to the house a few hours later, hearing silence in the house except for the barking coming from his two dogs as he walked in the door. He walked to the kitchen and filled their dog bowls, making sure they had water as well. One of the reasons he was going to be out a lot was because he couldn't stand smart mouthed teenagers like Skylar. He didn't even know why he agreed to have her here in the first place.

Skylar waited until Zack was gone before texting her boyfriend back. He was at the airport, leaving on Senior trip. She hated that all her friends were a year older than her and she would be left alone most of the summer. Once she didn't get a reply from him she decided to just get some sleep. It might have been early, but she'd been up late last night sneaking in and out to say goodbye properly to her boyfriend. Changing her clothing, before crawling into bed.

Zack went upstairs after watching some televsion and changed into his pajamas bottoms. He crawled into his bed, calling his dogs into the bed with him as he turned on some background music. He laid his head back and closed his eyes, groaning quietly to himself. He needed to make things right between him and his stepsister and he needed to do it tomorrow before the summer was worse than it should be.

Skylar groaned feeling a weight holding her down. Her eyes fluttered open, "what the fuck, get off." She seethed at the Great Dane, who decided her bed was an except able place to sleep. The huge dog had it's head rested peaceful on Skylar chest. Shoving at the dog she stumbled out of bed, "stupid mutt." She growled, grabbing her cell she checked to see if she had any missed calls or text. Once discovering no one bothered her, she trailed out of her room and down to the kitchen. Seeking food.

Zacky was in the kitchen cooking breakfast when he heard Skylar wake up. He frowned at her words to his dog and swallowed back the urge to tell her to get the fuck out of his house. "Oh, look. The queen bee decided to come down for some breakfast. Too bad. If you can pay your own bills, you can buy your own food with that attitude," Zacky told her as he turned her around when she went to go in the fridge.

Skylar rolled her eyes, "don't touch me fat fucker." She told him smacking his hands away from her. She glared up at him. Shaking her head she turned and moved past him out the back door. "Fucking idiot." She said muttered, texting her dad.
